Hey all! My name is Bobby and I just bought my first car! It is a 2016 Inferno Toyota Tacoma SR5 4X2 RWD with a double cab. This is my dream car (would rather have the 4X4 option but I could not find one in my price range) and I love absolutely everything about it!... except for the ENTUNE multimedia system.

The truth is it absolutely sucks. I first discovered this forum when I began searching for an alternative to the ENTUNE stystem. I have read multiple pages regarding this topic, but have yet to find a reasonable solution. My buddy is a professional coder and said he would be willing to embark on a project with me if I did the brunt of the research to determine the efficacy of head-unit integration with Carplay or an Android alternative. Please let me know if anybody is interested in this topic and can point me in the right direction to get started.

    Cheers,

    Bobby

toyota has already said they would add apple car play onto almost all veichles by 2020.. there are some wire in kits out there that will let you turn your head unit into a compatable apple carplay system for like $280-320

I hear you man, I'm going to switch out the HU myself after everything else is setup. It's either that or run a seperate EQ which will also be a bunch of money and another wired component.
