I do tow a TT with my 2.7 that weights in around 3500lbs. It does fine and pull the trailer between 65-70mph. Up steep hills it will downshift to second and I can maintain 60-65mph. I did install a header and cat back which help with towing. I know that the V6 would tow better but I enjoy the 25mpg and the V6 would only see 21. I know it's rated at 23 but real world result show less. The 2.7 is also rated at 21 but real world numbers for the 4 is higher. If the 6 speed tranny towed better I would stay with the 2.7.

I recently got a 2016 Dual Cab SR5 with 11k miles on for 27k. It's definitely not fast, but I am averaging 28 MPG on my route to work. Plus I know I'll never get a speeding ticket.

Last of the breed! Myself, it was a long journey. Glad I stayed the course before the levy broke.

    Recently purchased a 2009 SR5 Access Cab 5-speed with 70k for just under $12,000.
Really wanted the TRD but out of my price range.
Looked for about 2 months, refused to get an auto until I found this baby. Love at first sight! :)

I purchased my 2016 new in November 2015 while it was being built in TX with a check for $25,716.38 (Included taxes, tags, title, 4 year registration, 7 year power train warranty) plus the trade in (2007 stripped 6cy 2wd Silverado with 34,000 miles, headliner falling out, piles of cigarette butts, engine light on, no trim white). The 2016 Tacoma is a SR access cab with I guess you call it the convenience package with the cruise control, folding little rear seats and aluminum alloy wheels. It's a 2.7 4 cyl, 4x4, 5 speed manual, 7 year/ 70k? mile extended warranty (I think that added about $1200 plus tax) and very black. I still have less than 6,000 miles on it and have just got around to doing some upgrades. I have fuel Vapor 18" x 9"s on order, lift kit and Toyo 285/65r 18s on order, and right now I have an incremental wiper switch on order. I put on Anzo led tail lights but I think if I can get TRD pro tail lights I'll change them again. Added fog lights a couple of weeks ago. As you can see by my mileage, I don't drive that much because I'm retired. I got the truck because my father had a 1989 2wd that he drove for over 110,000 miles and only changed the oil every 3000 miles, nothing else, no tires, no brakes and it was just about ready for a clutch. It never left him stranded. He bought that thing new for $9000.00 and there wasn't a spot on it that wasn't dented or smashed and he got $2000.00 when he sold it in 1996.

My Taco is stock with a camper top on it. The only thing I do is when it comes to replacing a stock part I use the best quality part I can to replace it.
Picked up my 2007 4x4 5speed reg cab for $3400 it only had 98k on it.
