I bought my 2012 4x4 dual cab Tacoma with factory installed towing package. I was recently rear ended by a "distracted' driver who fortunatly was not going too fast, and also put her brakes on at the last minute and nosedived right under my bumper. Wrecked her front end, but the only damage to my rig was shattering my Weathertech bumper step and destroying the mount and socket of my trailer electrical hookup. My local Toyota dealer wants over $200 for a "factory replacement". Tractor Supply and Auto Zone have tons of ALMOST acceptable harnesses but none have the small male end that snaps into the socket on the truck wiring.
Anyone know of an after market source for a replacement? I know I can always buy the two pieces separately and splice them but would rather not if I can avoid it. THANKS.

Why are you paying to fix damage she caused?

    Get the factory replacement.
    Expensive... yes.
Cutting and splicing only opens areas for corrosion no matter how good you do it.

    Like Indy said.
Why are you buying this repair?
Back to factory is the only way to do it right in this situation.

Toyota dealer quoted something like $225 for a replacement. My only damage was to the bracket and socket. i bought a new socket and wiring at Auto Zone and made the splices. Used some sealant to cover the splice ends and wrapped everything good. think it will last a few years. Be careful though; Toyota color coding not the same as after market. Have to check as you go. Not real happy with Toyota parts pricing!!Good luck.

Toyota dealer quoted me 263 for the factory replacement plug n play. They are realllll proud of that little 1 foot connector. Headed out to the garage to check the haynes manual on color matching a 10 dollar uhual plug.
