That is a beautiful machine. Been hearing about these guys for a while. Those chainstays look nice and short, what's the measurement? I could look it up, I guess.

    EDIT: 429mm, nice!

I have a Crank Brothers Highline. It’s got nothing but great reviews. It’s pricey but less than a Thompson, Fox or Rockshox Reverb.

I had problems with Reverb, but supposedly, they are reliable now. My Transfer was flawless. On my new build, I went with a carbon KS that has been great so far (3 rides).

If you want to drive a ways, Moab in Franklin or Murfreesboro are the best.

Thanks for the info, Murfreesboro isn't but an hour away and we go Nashville at least twice a month.

I just have what came on my bikes, and I haven't had a problem with any of them yet, other than the latest one needing the lever adjusted (I think they just forgot to do a final adjustment when they built the bike). I've had a couple of KS, a Specialized, and now the Trek version. My favorite was probably the Specialized, it just seemed really solid and had the least amount of wiggle. But not tons better than the others. If I were to go buy one, I would go with what Red suggested, the X Fusion Manic. Best bang for the buck. It's just a telescoping post. Oh, I did have a Joplin. I might still have that Joplin. Somewhere.

Very happy with my Giant Contact Switch. Reasonably priced compared to most brand options, can be setup for internal or external routing and so far 100% reliable for me after 2 years of use unlike my 2 Reverbs before. One downside is only available in 30.9.

actually in nashville, i've heard that east side cycles is good. i cannot recommend cumberland transit on west end. they are way over priced. i took a wheel there to get a spoke replaced. my spokes were black. they kept the wheel for a week and still replaced it with a silver spoke so it didn't match the rest. $30 fee for that. i made them remove the silver spoke and just took the wheel to moab.

Looking at getting a new bike currently on a 2016 specialized stump jumper fsr 650b fattie Carbon. Looking at getting something more aimed at parks.

My eyes are set on the new 2018 yt Capra CF pro or cf pro race.
Anyone have any experience with either model? I'm leaning torwards the CF pro race as the adjustability on the rear fox float factory is a bit better than the pro fox float performance and me being a 230lb guy the extra adjustments seem worthy. However Im unsure if it's worth the extra 1,000. As that's really the only thing jumping out at me between the two that I would really gain from. They both are full carbon bikes on carbon wheels the race has a step above wheelset and they have a few other changes on the race but most at subtle that I could live without I think.

My riding is park at North Star, downieville down hill and then a pretty good amount of varying difficulty of trails in the Sierra Nevada

    At 230 lbs, I'd do a coil. Heck, I'm 197 on a hightower LT with a Float x2 and I'm considering a coil for all-mountain use.

In other words, it might make sense to buy one with a cheaper shock and put the savings towards upgrades. The 29'er Capra would've been on my radar if it was available when I got mine.

Any suggestions for a coil for someone my weight? I've heard Air was better for bigger guys as heavy coils are hard to find
