I test drove identical dclb Sport and ORs. I liked the sport better on the streets and probably 98% of my driving will be on streets. I drive passes periodically so I'll be happy having the 4x4. If I go off roading, I won't go somewhere where I might get stuck alone because I don't want to end up on the news for being lost/stuck. I also talked my dealer into a much better price because the sport doesnt have all of the features I pretended were important to me. The dealer got me to sit in a QS Pro (I think...it might have been a limited. I was already buying the sport...), but my girlfriend said, "It's beige. Only serial killers drive beige cars."

In any event, the girlfriend is dead now and I'm very happy that I bought my magnetic gray sport. It was a tough decision but I couldn't be happier with my final choice. I love my truck no matter what stickers are on the side of the bed.

Sports :rofl:I feel the only reason people buy them is because the OR model they want isn't on the lot.

I have a Sport and can confirm that this is an exaggeration.

I can still get a 6MT in an Access Cab Sport atleast.

The off road should hold it's retail a little better than the sport so if you don't care about the cosmetic differences then you're better off with the off road. The reason I got the sport was because it was one of the last 2017 I could find in my area plus the dealers around here are a lot more willing to negotiate on the sports than the off road.

OR. The only function the Sport's hood scoop serves is to block your vision while driving

    • Locker
    • Mall Crawl Mode
    • Nice and Smooth Shocks
    • Plates on the under
    • and from what I hear a better resale?

But dont take our word for it test drive both and test drive some more then decide for yourself

Had that been available in the OR you likely would have been all over it.

Last week I spent four days wandering around the Olympic Peninsula. I was solo and playing on some FS roads. I pulled the sway bar off of my Sport since I knew it was limiting some articulation and bounces me around on uneven bumps / potholes. Just doing that transformed the ride on road and off. No more bucking side to side and it added only a bit of body roll in corners. Once the suspension takes a set in a corner, it is just as firm as with the sway bar.

I put it back on for the 5k service today and plan on removing it again this weekend.

    Like, so many.
I've owned both. Go OR. It has more value for the money. Let me know if you have specific questions about the differences.

When I first got the truck, I noticed the hood scoop, but honestly don't notice it. The glare has never been a issue - fake news

Mine is mounted on my garage wall, where it will forever remain. The ride off road is 3x as good, and I notice nothing when taking tight s turns.

Exactly. I was purposefully hustling it through some nice corners. Life was good.

I only put it back on because I was feeling needle bearing vibes, both constant and oscillating. Of course, after I mentioned this to the dealer while scheduling, I haven't felt it since.

I have a test curve that I base all of my body roll science on. It passed. If I’m on the freeway and a deer jumps out, I may swerve, and that normally would be a cause for concern, swerving and overcorrecting and then dying in a truck fire. But it’s a 2017. I’ve got stability control, a computer will determine velocity and wheel spin and yaw rate and do maths and then it’ll modulate and, correct my truck, and I’m good to go.

Yeah. The moose test is going to be different. I'd say that the Sport with the swaybar handles as well as early-2000s cars. Without, it is certainly not even close to unsafe. Mid-80s Big3 cars were stupidly worse. To me, it felts like a modern full size pickup with it off, like my boss's 2011 F-150. That's good enough for me.

So anti-glare skewp stickers are pointless like skewp itself?

    Jesus......
