Nope. My company is opening a plasma donation center here. We have one in Longview and one in Irving currently, but are adding 4 more in Texas this year (Odessa, Amarillo, Dallas, and Bedford). We tend to stay along the east coast (6 in Florida, 3 in SC, 4 in NC, and one in MS), but we ultimately open the centers wherever our customers want them.

That's what we're hoping for. Truth be told, Dallas Fort Worth is a freaking gold mine for plasma centers. There are already 20, we are adding 2, and most of our competitors are going to be opening centers there in the near future.

I've opened three there (ImmunoTek - Irving, Octapharma - Fort Worth, and Octapharma - Garland). Zombieland came out between our opening of Garland and Fort Worth. We laughed our asses off at the opening scene.

I went once in Arlington many years ago, and they told me they only take new people at 7am, coz have no time otherwise. Being the college student I was, I was not going in at no 7am appointment.

In Odessa it's H2S - smells like rotten eggs. If you can smell it, it won't kill you. It's not as bad in Midland, but as you go further west until about Kermit, it's going to be there. Some would say it's the smell of money... I could give you a rundown of where the H2S is and how it affects a person, but I'm sure that's beyond the scope of our little thread. Lived out there a good portion of my life. Don't plan on moving back. How's that water tasting?

I'm almost afraid to google it, but I probably will.

I stick with bottled water pretty much everywhere. Greenville, MS got me going in that direction. When the tap water looks like diluted tea, no thanks.

Today I had to drive to Abilene to pick up some low tox antifreeze to use for our temperature probes. Seven hour round trip for a bottle of freaking antifreeze. Most places I go, they either have it on hand or offer to order a bottle for me. Odessa and Meridian, MS are the only cities I've been to where I was given a "Nope. We don't sell it and won't order it." Thanks for the outstanding customer service, assholes.

Well out there, the tap water is more dangerous than antifreeze so they arent worried about low tox :D

Amazon Prime? Lol. Don't you like how far away stuff is in TX? Orange to El Paso is 856 miles. Road trips with my kids: "Are we still in Texas?"

That was my first thought. Not available through Amazon.

Yeah, I actually flew into El Paso since Delta doesn't fly into Odessa and I've got Gold status with them. I'm flying into Albuquerque when I go to Amarillo for the same reason. People get kind of floored with how big Florida is too. "Oh you must love going to the keys." No, I don't. From Cocoa to Key West is a 7 hour drive. To put it in perspective, When I picked up my rear bumper from SOS Concepts in Laurens, SC, it took less than 8 hours to get home, including stops for gas and bathroom breaks. That being said, Texas is freaking huge.

You should post in the Austin thread. I’m sure @ChadsPride will provide a link, if he hasn’t already by the time I’m done posting this
