Your brake shoes are probably soaked in oil. What is it doing? However If your rear end is in fact bad I have a 4.10 elocker out of a 1997 T4R waiting for a home... I also have Toytec 9602 coils, set of Camburg UCA, Toytec extended length bumpstops and the new style rack guide.

Got an apt to take my truck in for the second time for the same issue at Toyota of Des Moines. Not real thrilled. I bought the truck with 6k miles. It now has 16k. Ever since I’ve owned it, there’s been a vibe in the steering wheel that consistently comes and goes. Every 15-20 seconds. Like an on and off on and off. I knew I was going to be replacing the factory tires so I waited to have it looked at until after I did that to rule out the tires. Put cooper stt pros on it and the vibe is still there. So, a couple of months ago I took it in to have it looked at and to have the newest flash on the trans done. They did the flash and told me they needed to put a set of stock wheels and tires on it in order to look into the vibe any further(even tho it’s day and night that it’s there, even with the coopers), and that would take at least a day. So they sent me on my way and said “it’s still under warranty so just keep driving it and if it gets worse come back”. I felt like the service writer looked at me like a punk kid. I’m 33, I have a 10 and 11 year old and I work hard for my money so I don’t appreciate that but I ignored it. The vibe has gotten worse. I can feel it regardless if I’m in 2 or 4wd, on the brakes or gas. Doesn’t matter. So I called back today to get it looked at. Same service writer. Gives me the same type of half assed attitude over the phone. Make the apt and I’m supposed to drop it off the 1st after work and they’re going to keep it overnight and the next day. So I bring up a loaner vehicle as it states they’re supposed to provide in the Toyota company policy. He says “nah I don’t have one...you’ll have to figure it out”. So I said “I have to take off work early to bring my truck on your schedule, and I’m 45 miles from you guys. You’re telling me that I have to find transportation back home, to work again and then here on my own because my truck with 16k miles is messed up without it being my fault and you guys need to keep it for an extended period of time..? He says “yep, I’ve got nothing to give you so you’ll have to figure it out..”. I’ve read so many horror stories about service experiences on here so I called corporate directly. They confirmed that it’s the dealerships responsibility to either give me a loaner or provide me with a rental and called the service manager. He told the lady that “they didn’t have a truck but they definitely have a car to offer me”. Then I had to call him to confirm and I got his voicemail. Pretty annoyed with my experience so far. On top of the vibes in the drive train, my truck gets terrible mileage. Like, this winter there were several days I pulled 11.5 mpg with the cruise set at 72 mph. My wonder is if there’s something binding causing the vibe and robbing my fuel mileage. Had to vent to someone lol

That sucks!!. I know it's a little outta your way, but the Cedar Falls dealer up here is top notch. Put your stockers back on and bring it up. I'm sure they'll figure something out. They've gone out of there way for me on my 13..

I don’t have my stockers since I just put tires on, but if it doesn’t work here I’ll definitely consider the drive. It’d be worth it to get it sorted out. This is the newest vehicle I’ve ever owned as I usually always work on my own stuff so there’s never been a point
In buying something with a warranty and spending the extra money. When I seen the third gens I fell in love and thought “something with a warranty...finally I won’t have to worry about maintenance myself...”. So far no good haha.

I'm sure they'll still will work with you. I can get you my svc managers name if you do come up. You can tell them your story before making the drive. I always find if you tell the whole stpry and not be a dick about it, they willl treat you the same. That pretty much goes for anything.

    Good luck man

I agree. I worked in sales/service for a few years and it always blows my mind how quickly people blow their top lol. As if that’s going to make anyone want to help you  Thanks for the info. If it doesn’t work out with them I’ll get that number from you!
