They are at home. On the main comment section, you were up by around 30 votes (including 3x multiplier). You had more votes on the pictures themselves, too. 3rd place was a ways back.

I think that’s perfect. What would you suggest for someone who only owns a slow cooker, grill and oven, no smoker?

He got third place, though there was a pretty big gap from second place (#5) and third place.

Get a smoker :D Even a Weber 22" grill would work if you set up the coals properly. Just more babysitting.

No, we just had a 1st place prize and then two shakers were given away to voters.

If we can grow this thing a bit, then we'll do more on the prize front.

Thanks, had never heard of that. Looked up a couple recipes, sounds delish. I'm going to give some brisket a try first but the Kalua will be my next pork shoulder effort.

I have both gas and charcoal Webers, just can't remember off hand how big the charcoal one is. My wife gave me a smoker box and some nice chips a while back, and then I did the research and saw exactly the babysitting you're talking about. Time to stop being lazy, I should give the smoker box a try with the excellent rub @bvbull200 sent.

The ones Ive seen are just salt and some liquid smoke. Just dont over salt it if you use kosher salt...
