    Hey all,

Just replaced my front stock 6x9s with Infinity Primus Pr6500cs 6 1/2. Modified the stock tweeter housing to fit the Infinity tweeters and used the Crutchfield harness to attach to the stock wiring. The speakers sound clearer but the tweeter doesn't sound as clear as I thought it would - like it is pushing midrange. Additionally, I get the head unit (a JVC KD-AHD59) about halfway up the volume and the tweeters start crackling. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to run all new wiring?

    Thanks,
    Glenn

Are you using a xover or did you add a blocking cap? The stock Toyota "tweeter" is really a full range. You may be running the tweeter too low.

Tried to use the xover from the 6 1/2 and tweeter but I guess the speakers are in parallel and not sure what to splice.
