Also, I haven’t mentioned this really but a friend and I started an off-road club/Instagram page a little bit ago called Evergreen Offroad, since this other one we were apart of died off. Anyway if anyone wants some decals that we PM me! $4 each. Black/White/silver/green available in both variations!

Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
I've always enjoyed the ST Maxx. Run them on 2 different trucks and they always performed flawlessly.

Interesting. Did the ST Maxx’s do better on ice than the Falkens, or just in the deeper snow? I’m debating between these two for my next set of tires.

Both. Tread was much more clear "plowing" (only about 8-10" deep snow) snow but also on the way down I could stop much easier without sliding. Under the fresh 8-10" was straight ice. You can kinda see in this picture how clear mine is compared to his which is where we turned around, mines the white one with ST maxx's

Im not saying the falkens are a bad tire, but the ST maxx is a much better tire than the falkens.

For people intrigued by these tires...I happen to have a set of 4 in 285/75R16 with 10-11 32nds all around. No patches or plugs and have been rotated every 5k

Rebuilt the whole rear axle Friday night, put my driveline on Saturday and went wheeling Saturday night :headbang:
Snow wasn’t too deep but was icy/shitty snow so still a fun challenge on the hills. These nittos continue to impress in crap snow! Also will get more pics when Alex goes through the ones on his DSLR

Homemade. My dad and I actually made them for my tacoma and they ended up fitting perfectly in the 80! Only thing I don’t like is we didn’t put drawer glides on them so it’s a pretty tight fit but it isn’t bad. Then just wrapped the outside in indoor/outdoor carpet from home depot

Few weeks ago picked up the chinese twin of the Rugged Radio handheld for my lexus and loved how clear and so much better that was over CB that ill upgrade the comms in this thing too. Undecided if i'll tear out the CB (since literally everyone in the PNW uses it ) but going to add a hard mount rugged radio in it. Should have about a 10 mile range in the open and I assume about a 7 mile range in the mountains. Much better than CB

Picked up that exact one. Everyone I wheel with ripped our cbs out and replaced them with these. So much better. I did have a problem with my radio (high static on and off) but they mailed me a new one to replace it after their tech couldn't find anything wrong with it.

Oh nice! Seems like good customer service. Would you say the range is about as advertised? Saw one review on YouTube that the guy said he was being picked up further than 12 miles with his. Of course depends on wide open versus deep in the mountains

Don't forget that those radios broadcast on HAM frequencies and do require a HAM license. Seems like Rugged Radios doesn't want to tell their customers about that.

Rugged blocks out the HAM frequencies from what I’ve read online. But doesn’t matter since I have my license
Also found this online last night too

It does look like it's operating just above the 2m and 7cm bands. I wonder if it still falls under the requirements. I hear a lot of complaining from HAM folks about how Rugged Radios tries to get around the rules.

Hmm idk. HAM is only a certain frequency range so not sure why they’d get mad about them using frequencies outside that range lol
