Rear leaf springs

    Las Vegas. As far west as you can go.
    Vehicle:
    work in progress
    gucci interior and chandelier.
    sagging about an inch due to age, truck has 210,000 miles.

    What is the best thing to do.

    Add a add a leaf like what I found on wheelers website.

    Swap out the big leaf for a mini pack

    Honestly, the best thing to do would be to get a whole new leaf pack... an AAL will work for a little while, but the old sagging leafs will wear it out quick. If you want a stock height replacement then check out General Springs - theirs are relatively inexpensive and good quality.

    Go with new springs anything else is just a band aid.

    I 2nd General Spring very happy with the service from them

    I got the Heavy Duty ones some say quite a large increase in height myself I never noticed very much difference

    Did you replace the shackles, spring bolts, u bolts or just swapped out the springs?

    I have learned Here in Pa when doing the Springs on these Trucks after the first time just cut every thing off

    The first one turned into a 2 week ordeal till I managed to get all the rest of the assorted hardware.

    Replace with new I would rather have the new hardware and not need it .

    Most times I have no idea of the history of the vehicle when it shows up.

    Down South and in the Southwest people can get away with using the old hardware

    Aftermarket tranny cooler, 5100 Series Bilsteins, ToyTec Bilstein front coilovers, SPC UCA's, Alcan leafs, Class 3 Hitch, Tundra Front Brakes,
    Best to use new hardware. It pays dividends, and in my case, the shackles had to be cut off.

    Started a whole site now? That explains the flickr watermark change haha Also I'd like to submit a change, there's plenty of adjust ability in a custom leaf pack, you can remove and add leafs to your hearts desire...

    Yah, I realized that I end up sharing a lot of the adventures with friends who would be overwhelmed by TW, so I just copied everything over to a blog. It's sort of like my "TW backup" since I still post everything here first and spend 99% of my time here, hahahahah!

    I like your change; updated the post. Though, that "adjustability" is not for the feint of heart - not like adding air to some shocks.

    Yeah I suppose, i think o e just had to do it so much im used to it now, put two new leafs on each side on friday in about 45mins

    AAL will be a bandaid fix. It won't last long and will wear out prematurely because the other leafs are shot.
