I got my car new for $38K (MSRP is $48,500). 415hp stock, and there are many people with bolt on superchargers pushing 750hp that would whoop the W1, and I could build 5 supercharged SS cars for what one W1 costs. They are pretty freakin' bad A though.

Damn that is just insane. Those things are all over the place in Melbourne. Although everyones freakin rich here. I spotted this Maloo this morning! Its literally a C7 corvette in UTE cloths. The brakes are bigger than the tyres on my Prado! I would love to rock one back home!

How'd you get it for so cheap? I was actually looking into getting the SS before my truck.

I had a c55 amg before with some kleeman parts and it had 405hp/425 ft/lbs torque; a little less than the SS but also weighed about 500 pounds less. My only qualm was that it was a 5 speed slush box whereas you could get the SS in a 6speed and all aftermarket parts for MBs and BMWs cost an arm and a leg.

The dealership was running a 20% off deal, and they wanted to get rid of the most expensive Malibu they'd ever had on the lot. I really think they had no idea what it was. I also negotiated the price down a bit on top of the 20%. It is a fantastic car. I test drove the 'Vette and a Camaro SS but there is just something about a four door rental car that will rip that puts a smile on my face. Every time I take someone for a ride, they are left with a grin stuck on their face. It's ridiculous the level of performance. I've had several BMW's and it handles exactly like they do. It doesn't oversteer or understeer, just a perfect four wheel drift when you push it too hard. The suspension is pretty cool too. You can put it in tour mode and take grandma to church, or put it in competition mode and hit the track. It could use a supercharger and a cam, but even in stock form it will push 150+mph. There are a few for sale if you search, get one while you still can.

Ive seen what early adopters pay vs nowadays pricing. Shits like $300 more or worse. Makes me cringe too.

I have to admit. I have and "All pro" bolt together front bumper that I bought in 2010 before all these guys built a bad ass single piece thing. At the time it was the new hotness. Now its just "ok" No need to swap it out but fuck I wish I had a more solid front end...
