Auto Vox M6 - price has gone down a bit since I got it last summer. I mainly bought it since it comes with a backup camera (which I've never needed, of course...) but the wife insisted on. Not sure why this upload pixellates a bit, as the original does not. As this video shows, it can be a good thing to not accelerate too quickly through a residential intersection, because of course you never know when someone will blow off the stop sign, and fly through the intersection into oncoming traffic on the wrong side of the road when you are making a left turn. About a second or two faster and I would've ended up with a Hyundai in the front seat of my '99.

Anyway, it is a slip-on unit that goes over the factory rear-view mirror and is held on with mini-bungees/hooks. I like that it more or less blends in and doesn't tempt the easily tempted to help themselves to the goods stuck to the inside of the windshield. It did not come with a memory card, so I had to pop for a 32GB card for it, and like most, if not all, other cams, it just records until it fills up and then starts erasing at the beginning. You can opt for the length of video clips in records in - I think I have mine set for 10 min. While I mentioned that the backup camera was part of the reason I bought this one, I have not gotten around to installing it. This is not because it is too difficult (it's not - plenty of slack for the wiring), but because the mounting bracket really makes the camera stick out from the license plate mounting point a bit too much for my liking. It seems like it's just asking to get messed with. I haven't taken the time to figure out a better way to mount it though. I've been very pleased with its performance so far, and I plan on putting a switch inline for the reverse camera rather than hook it to the reverse light. The one caveat (and it's kind of a big one) is that the reflective part of the mirror is not as bright as the stock mirror; it reminds me a bit of a rearview mirror with "auto dimming" turned on. Now, my truck has tinted glass plus a cap with tinted glass, so I'm accustomed to only using the side mirrors anyway.

    Hey guys, new member here...
I use the Oasser Amazing U1. its like $60 bucks on Amazon. I bought a brand new jeep wrangler in May of 2017... Some van ran a light and totaled me out in July 2017.
One spinal surgery later and months of recovery, im alive to have got a Tacoma. . . . And heavy evidence for the courts!! Here is my accident at night. and its pretty clear to me. Smart $60 bucks for a piece of mind.

holy hell man, sorta ironic that you were listening to "tonights gonna be a good night". are you fully recovered? I have been t boned but only on the passenger side so it scares me to get hit like that.

on a side note that cam looks like a knock off of the vantrue N2 pro but without the rear cam. I will have to look into it.

Well I hope you make a full path to recovery. I had so many scares, thats what got me into dash cams. one of my worst accidents I wish I had a dash cam for just because the footage would have bean great. coincidently the snow made the accident much less worse, but the snow also caused the accident went a dodge ram ran a stop sign because it couldnt stop (the X is where I was T-boned):

    beforeafter.jpg

besides that there was one week where I had FOUR people run red lights as I was going thru a green that almost hit me and I got tired of it. that was the beginning of me finally putting cams in my car.

Been meaning to ask since you review so many cameras! I installed mine in the wrong spot i noticed they send extra adhesive tape. Whats the best way to get the tape off? Bought the thinkware 800 pro!

Some companies pack in a piece of white string that you can use to "saw" between the glass and the plastic mounting plate. I like to use a plastic prying tool to just wedge under it tho and try to pull it off in one piece. string can often cut it up into tiny pieces that makes getting it all off harder sometimes.

Its definitely harder to remove if the adhesive is cold tho, in the past I have used a hot hair dryer on the windshield to try to soften the adhesive up a bit too. dunno how much it really helps but in theory it should hah.

i wont lie tho sometimes it ends with me like this.

Uploaded my review on the blackvue power magic ultra B-124 battery. its the ultimate power solution for powering your blackvue cams during parking mode. Costs a lot at $300 but if you can afford it, its worth it.
