Spare Tire mount.

Need a way/place to mount my 33'' spare. Thought about on the roof, but the access cab has no bolt holes from the factory. Then I saw a VTiregate, spendy! Any one using the hitch mount. I would like it out of the bed.

Whats your tire size? My 285/70 fits spare tire location. I love unchained5150’s method also. I just use tailgate too much to swing it out all the time

 

Fair warning to everyone looking at the tire gate or swingout, as a former owner of both, your spare tire becomes an anchor and it is very inconvenient. Sure it looks cool and is great if you’re wheeling every weekend. If not, total pain in the ass.

 

Why is that? I have had it for 2 years without issue. Can get in and out of the bed of the truck in less than 5 minutes.

It does with some modifications

Love my Hitch have never found it to be inconvenient whatsoever. I don't keep anything in the bed, so it's very rare I need to swing it out.

 

Thanks. It's in the bed or in the garage depending on where I'm going. Having a custom rack built that will use the spare tire hoist from under the bed to hoist it up to underside of the top of the rack.

Could you elaborate? I'm getting ready to buy 33s.

Does anyone know if the spare tire has a TPMS sensor already? I want to start a 5 tire rotation but I want to make sure my TPMS as well as my in dash tire pressure guage will still work
