Nice! That is a good deal. I like mine (pic a few posts up), but it was actually harder to get attached than my home-built one. I had to leave off the lock washers to get the bolts to bite (not long enough), but I never had lock washers on my old one, so not really worried about it. Also, I ordered the aluminum rack to save weight, but pretty sure the cross bars were steel. Not a big deal, but kind of expected all aluminum. It's a quality rack, though, and the height is perfect for I wanted and basically the same as the one I custom built.

My old one for a 2nd gen is available for pickup, free if you want it. Not pretty, but not ugly, and functions as intended.

I really like the way the cbi’s look. Was going to buy wheels and tires first but I couldn’t pass up this deal. This one is steel. What did you have on your 2nd gen?

I built my own because I am cheap, needed a winter project, and my neighbor at the time had a welder and a basement shop I could borrow while my in-laws were in town for a couple of weeks. So you could say the stars aligned, and I have an engineering background. Form follows function. Bought 100 bucks of steel tube and a couple of 4 foot lengths of angle and went to town.

    Here's the finished product.

In use in SW Colorado, dispersed camping site. Served me well, but bolt holes don't line up on a 3rd gen.

The steel powder coated ones are $1000 before shipping.

Yeah, powder coat, aluminum and shipping put mine to almost $1400 I think. I don't want to think about it. Looks in good shape, $700 is a good deal if it's like new and you don't burn too much gas picking it up. Honestly I don't think I saved much weight going aluminum.

Should only be about a tank of gas. So $40. If I was going to order one it would have been aluminum but again. This is saving money so...

Ok, so as promised, here is a file that should open in Google Earth. This is a simple one, Indian Creek Road from Hwy 123 to Hwy 7. These routes are simple to make on Gaia and export, or keep on Gaia to sync to phone and use in the field with GPS. I have several, but they look like spaghetti when they are all drawn on the map. I've found this to be useful due to the sheer number of unmarked roads out there that may or may not even go anywhere. There are a few routes I'd like to try this spring, but as I mentioned before, fords can be prohibitive and there is no guarantee these even exist out side of a 'jeep trail' marked on the map, so takes a bit of adventure, preparedness and not something to try alone, for sure. If you have waypoints or GPS coordinates to routes you've done or would like to do, I'd be happy to map them and get them out. Let me know if this doesn't work.
