As the title suggests I'm looking for ideas for wiring my winch through a push switch in the cab. Pics?

I was about to take this on with my new winch, but I think I am going to try a wireless relay and remote instead to avoid extra switches, wires and switch spots that I don't have. Something like this.

If you want to go wired, a few switches and some basic wiring can knock it out as well. Here is my Superwinch wiring diagram, you would run the in/out of the switch to tap into the yellow and blue wires, most run a "power" switch for the in/out switch and then run the out from that switch to the in/out switch so you don't accidentally turn you bumper inside out.

I have a winch with a wireless remote, with a cable that can be plugged in. I mounted the winch control box under the hood and then ran the port for the cable for the winch remote through the cigarette lighter hole.

There are a few pics in my thread here:

It's not the same setup you're asking about, I know, but I love the finished product.

I've seen several people running in cabin remote.
The problem is if you wheel alone alot, it might be beneficial to just have a long wired chord so you can see what's going on outside the vehicle.

Also...if you're winching in cabin....be sure and leave your hood up for protection from the cable/rope/hook. In case of snapback.

    Is the wireless connection infrared?
Is that what most wireless tech for winches are?

Not sure if they use IR or not, also not sure why he ran the wired connection into the cab if you have a wireless remote . . .

I ran it into the cab because I read that the remotes are prone to crapping out on their wireless capability and then having to be used plugged in from then on. I didn't have room in my winch bumper for the control box, so it got mounted under the hood. The plug in for the cable was mounted to the box, and I didn't want to have to pop my hood every time I wanted to use it, so I ran it into the cab. It works for me. I've had no regrets doing it that way, and can't think of a scenario where I would have a problem because of it.

I just got my Taco, so nothign on it yet. On my Jeep it used a mirror controller out of a ford. I can rotate the switch backward (right mirror) so it is "off", or forward (left mirror) so it's "on". then toggle it forward winches in (toggle forward, vehicle forward), toggle backward, winch line out so vehicle backward. Simple and effective. Still figuring out how to work TW, and have no photo hosting site, so most likely no pic soon

Planning on doing this soon. It shouldn't be that hard once you figure out where to tap into your control solenoid box. Probably a hot wire and 2 other wires for in and out

I need to be close to the winch when operating it, so I can hear it, see it, stop it before something breaks, keep it spooling properly. I have a wireless remote so I can free up the pull if it gets stuck without running back and forth. I'm never very far from the winch when operating it, and never inside the truck... but could be, with a wireless remote.

You never operate the winch from inside the vehicle?
