I saw a traction pad/board get launched from under the spinning rear wheel of a stuck truck last spring.... It may still be in low earth orbit. Highly recommend "leash" (tether) with them. From what I've seen, they do have a limited lifespan.

I ordered a set of max trax for the same reasoning. There are times I go somewhere alone, without something to potentially winch off of and I want to have a chance at self recovery. I've never used my Maxtrax (yet), but I think $300 is a reasonable insurance policy.

As for the TRED Pros, no Idea how well they work or not. They certainly can save you some coin. Should be a great group buy. I'm sure we've all seen in countless videos the maxtrax sets getting punished and taking it like champs.

Yes the lugs do melt if you spin tires on them, but these replacement lugs might be a possibility. (though not sure what they might do to your tires) Ultimately, we just shouldn't spin on maxtraxs. Actually, I'm surprised the metal sand ladder types haven't caught on more.

Vehicle recovery is inherently dangerous. Before doing anything, safety briefing and a discussion of potential hazards should occur. Spend the five minutes so everyone goes home.

What traction recovery equipment does everyone use?

Probably the one thing I'm not afraid to spend money on is safety equipment.

And, as of this moment, Everett has missed the water hazard. To be continued....
