Clear Protective Stickers

    So I bought my truck used and it came with what appears to be clear protective stickers on the sides and edges of the doors. It looks like with time and sun, they have got cracked and dirty.

    Easiest way is to use a clothes steamer and a plastic scraper. If you steam it enough it should come off easily.

    I used a hair dryer on medium heat to remove my 6 year old Texas sun baked TRD stickers. They would only come off in tiny pieces until I used the dryer. Then they came off in 3 or 4 pieces each. Total game changer. Maybe that truck will work for these? Keep us posted as mine are dilapidated too.

    Most stickers and glue can be removed with wd40. Try spraying it and use a plastic scrapper to gently pry and spray and scrap it off. Took off some emblems before. No marring. Worth a try.

    I had the same problem with my 2012. Because I live in the wonderful sunshine state of Florida, with lovely heat and humidity, taking them off was no easy job. I did the hair dryer, heat gun, wd 40, etc. I actually had to take it in to a vinyl shop where they removed it and put new rock guards on. Unfortunately, mine was so bad that it took two small chips out of the paint but the guys ordered the exact paint for my truck and fixed it. Not saying you have to go the route I did, but I am glad that I did. Those were a pain in the boot-ay!

    Two things @Babyruthless87 DO NOT use a wheel eraser on ANY plastic parts!!! It will take the paint with it.

    Also,watch the use of a heat gun and a plastic scraper on plastic.lf you get the plastic to warm,it will take the paint too.Just take your time,be patient and go slowly and heat up a smaller area.Beer or alcohol works well with these jobs! Makes you relax :)

    The door edge guards will come off with a heat gun,just pull slowly and they should come off in one piece.

    lf you need more clear,l am a distributor for Xpel film and paint protection

    I think a heat gun is too much heat. That's why I suggest a hair dryer on medium.
    I've used the eraser wheels extensively. They work.

    You have any issues if ya use common sense with a heat gun.l'll stick with what l previously wrote,paint will come off a plastic piece before you know it.25 years in the vinyl and paint protection business is where l'm coming from.........just sayin
