X-Posting this also here to get more input.

Anyone know how to wire a relay into a Switch Pro? Currently changing my wiring to a 8100 and know my light bar will draw more than the 15a of my available switches. Basically wondering if I can use the Switch Pro to trigger the relay and how I would go about doing this. Figured some guys have done this seeing some of the rigs with dual light bars and compressors. @JerryTaco?

Current wiring harnesss consists of a white, blue and black from my relays that was connected to my in cab mic tuning switch. I know black is ground and what I gather the white is to the relay and blue was connected to fused source. So what wore do I connect to the Switch Pro to activate my relay and turn the light bar on?

Sure that’s easy, just run the trigger wire of your relay to the Switch-Pros (normally pin 85). Everything else will stay the same. Also keep in mind with the 8100, switch #8 can operate up to 30A. So you may not need you to relay anymore.

Installed yesterday. Got some stuff to clean up a little bit but thanks to @Mr.PowerTrays and everyone else for the info and the clean mountain tray for the switch pro.

haha soon!! I'll be working on the site later this afternoon updating the quanites.

Also, ill be adding some options that are slimmer, specifically for the 3rd gens models so the tray doesn't block the oem fuse box as much.

The new trays will loose the space for the fuse box but I think it'll be a much better fit overall.

Currently working on my wiring. Quick questions for those that have installed the new SP-9100. (1) Did you connect the Black ground wire out of the SP directly to the Battery or can you connect it to the grounding Busbar where all the other grounds are connected since that is directly connected to the Battery? (2) So there is the Wire that is titled lights/T2. The instructions would like you to tap this into the taillights for the dimming function, but I would like to tap it into the highbeams so that when I turn them on, I can have my Roof Rack Squadrons/Ditch Lights automatically come on as well. Will this take away from the dimming function due to it not being tapped into the taillights?

I connected mine to the ground screw on side of the engine bay, which has a connection directly to the battery. But I didn't connect to the grounding busbar. My assumption is switch-pro is being a bit conservative in their instructions to have you install with a direct ground by saying connect directly to battery.

yeah, I am pretty sure you'll lose dimming if you use the lights/t2 wire as a trigger for other switches rather than a dimming trigger. I think you can set the brightness via the app when undimmed to something low, so when its dark, it'll be illuminated by not as bright as if you used that trigger wire for dimming. but you'll lose dimming. Honestly, I find it looks kind of weird fully illuminated while all the other OEM switches aren't as bright.

I assume you already using the pink wire for triggering other switches, right? And you're asking about having 2 trigger wires.

Exactly. I’m planning on using the pink for reverse and the white for the high beams. Has anyone tapped to a wire in the fuse box for the high beams or just outside of the fuse box by following the wire that comes out of the housing?

I think you should have a high beam fuse you can tap in your OEM fuse box. Is there a fuse labeled “LHHB” or “RHHB”?

Would it be H-LP LH-HI and H-LP RH-HI? Can you also tap the fuse that is labeled BKUP LP NO 1 for the reverse lights? That way I don’t have to actually splice the factory wire itself or is splicing the wire the only way to do it? Which is the best fuse to use for the ignition? I was thinking of using the A/C Fuse.

Yep those should be your highbeam fuses.
I would assume that using the back up lamp fuse 1 or 2 would be your reverse lights, sometimes they’re just always hot though...
And I even think that I’ve used one of the the EFI fuses for the ignition source… The only difference was the EFI stayed on for additional minute or so after you turned the ignition off.

Sorry, if I was there I could give you definitive answers. It’s been a while since I did an install on a 3rd GEN though.

Do you have a multimeter or test light? It’s pretty easy to check. The awesome thing about automotive fuses is you don’t even need to pull them, there’s two tiny little metal indents on the top that you can just touch with the probe to see when they’re hot or not.

Tomorrow I will look into tapping and/or adding a add-a-fuse for my Reverse Lights, High Beams, and Ignition Wire. For my Ignition Wire I’m looking at A/C Fuse or the Injector Fuse. For my White/T2 Wire I’m looking at H-LP RH-HI. For my Pink/T1 Wire I’m looking at BKUP LP NO. 1 or BKUP LP NO. 2 (If 1 Doesn’t Work). If both fuses are hot constantly, then I will tap the Reverse Light Wire in the EA1 connector. It’s the white one closest to the front and passenger side of the truck.

    8A619628-0F06-481B-AC69-937B3E891BCD.jpg

I will tap the wire with the yellow arrow (should be a red wire), Pin 18

    6EA7C8AD-6329-4335-96C5-2702AFF07392.jpg

For all my wires into the fuse panel I will attempt to insert them in a couple locations that have a through way into the panel like this one

    3F0135E2-0A90-4582-93C6-31C0C4C3FFE7.jpg

If you see anything within this plan that doesn’t look right or I should change before I make this happen, please feel free to let me know beforehand.

Where did you get the connectors for plugging things into your SP? Super clean and are they water proof?

There’s not a lot of room back there so I wanted to have something that would be easy to connect and disconnect accessories if I need to, as well as have a clean install. The connectors are waterproof and I purchased them on Amazon. Here you go
