Would love this on my Taco or at least dual action like on the Ridgeline. Anyone ever put a door sensor on the tailgate to let you know when its open?? Forgot to shut it the other day and my tools almost fell out.

Sierra getting carbon fiber bed on short bed only, saves over 60 pounds. Would get this over the new Silverado if I had $60k laying around.

Neato! They packed a piss ton of diverisity into the tailgate. That's like tiny house living shenanigans.

Just left my job at a GMC dealership two weeks ago and all I can say is that it probably sucks.

That is a pretty cool design for the Tailgate.

Looks like a knockoff Titan to me.

Is this only going to be a SLT and Denali option or all trim levels anyone know?

Not bitter. Just speaking the truth. I’ve spent some time with GM vehicles and I wouldnt waste my time with them. One time I opened the back hatch on a brand new GMC Acadia and the handle ripped off. There is a reason they are “best in initial quality”

    Looks like GMC gimmicky bullshit.

Edit: the dual action ridge line tailgate looks much more purposeful

Definitely a truck bed for non-construction or heavy users. It is super strong, but sharp/small surface area object impacts are gonna murder that thing in a hurry.

Plus imagine the cost when someone swipes on of those off the truck in the night...carbon fiber with eleventy hinges. Probably a 5 grand tailgate...

Yes it's $15, shines a light on your side view mirror when the tailgate is open: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Tailgate-A...u-Covers-Fits-All-Makes-and-Mod-/222432678959

One of the bad things with the Sierra dual-folding tailgate is it's probably twice as heavy. I don't use my bed that often :anonymous: so I prefer simplicity.

It is a gimmick. I have a 19 Sierra, which is for sale btw and I find the gate is very heavy, if you accidentally push the wrong button and open the top half first, the tailgate won’t open. If you travel down any gravel roads and have a tonneau cover, the amount of dust that gets in the bed is incredible. The step is a cool idea for us older folks. But if you have a hitch in ur receiver and drop both gates, you’re going to do some serious damage to the inner gate.
