I've been kicking the idea of a full size truck around. I have been looking at the RAM 2500, 3500 tradesman gassers. Crew cab snow plow prep package comes in at the same price as a tundra. I know this would be a really bad idea... But how bad are they?

I have 5 rental properties and do plumbing and HVAC. The taco has and continues to be a great truck, but it is starting to come up short more frequently. I have been looking at the tundra, but the crewmax starts around $40k. In the Ram world that money goes a lot further. I just wonder if they have solved the death wobble and all the other fun problems. I don't really "need" a 3/4 ton, but the tundra is only getting 15mpg... If I'm gonna burn the gas I might as well be able to plow snow and work. The magic of the tundra is the dependability and resale. You never know unless you ask!!!

The Radius Arm Front Suspension and the beef in the steering and trackbar and completely different from the previous setups.

I'm getting 12-13 on 37s with my 6.4 Power Wagon. Regular models should be a chunk better on MPGs.

Re: @Iamraiderpower ... LOL. I know, I know! I am still 95% TUNDRA. I've got a buddy who runs rams for his business and he swears they have come a long way. It is way more capability for the same money, but I know the tundra will out run it.

^How long do you intend to keep the Ram? If under 5 years, go for it.

Even if it's more than 5 years, go for it. FCA offers some pretty epic extended warranties for not a whole lot of $$, and usually they're transferrable to the next owner for a $50 fee, which helps the resale value a lot.

That's where the problem comes in... I keep them in the company for 5 years, then make them a personal vehicle for the next five while the new one is put on the books. The tundra is the best long term performer. I always like to look at the competition. Toyota has more than earned my loyalty. It's just pretty wild how much truck RAM will sell you in their tradesman line for under $40k. I don't need the 3/4 ton. It lives in a heated shop and I really don't even drive them in the salt of winter. The old one does that.
