This. Taking off Thursday morning to run my oldest son to the Amtrack station to do his third job interview in Chicago. He has completed his second interviews for positions in Boston and Portland Maine, waiting on third interviews for those. Even though Chicago and the job there is not high on his list I told him it will at least prepare him for other places.

But don't become a professional job interviewee.

The time to look for another job is when you still have one.

Don't settle if it isn't what you really want. As long as you have a job already.

See how much of it sticks.

There's about 10" up here. Miss WP 1980 sent us home at 1100 - nice of her, and I thanked her for that. Got home, ate lunch, and plowed the driveway with the quad. I hit the neighbor's across the street and then went around the block to swipe the neighbor's to the rear. Someone called the local PD that there were kids riding a quad in the street. Officer stopped by the neighbor's house across the street - they have younger men (in their early 20s) and he was looking to talk to them about riding in the street. I guess he heard me, came down the street, parked and watched me clean 2 driveways. I took my time - sat there at least a half hour. I talked to a different neighbor, took my hat off exposing my 50+ bald head as I left to go home. Officer turned the car around, waved and left. I thought I was getting pinched for sure. Less than 300' from my yard no less. But it all worked out.

Sad thing is it had to be someone who most likely knows you and not for nothing a quad with a blade on is not the most likely candidate to be running the streets being a jack ass. :{ I would be looking at the youngest snowflake couple on the street lol , as Mike said people just need mind there own business .

Unfortunately, this is not the case in a lot of places. When they find out your looking for another job they can your ass. So it has to be very secret and tell them not to contact your current employer.
    2 week notice?
    Yea right..
You give your notice and later in the day or next day they walk you out.
Not like it use to be...

The quad is a 1988 Polaris Trail Boss 4X4 250 2 stroke. I can easily piss off whoever it was by reving the engine and running circles around the house. I live on a circle with 8 houses in the middle, including me, each about 1/3 to 1/2 acre. Better yet, I have a three sided woodshed that would amplify the sound if I rev it in there.

I have never heard of interviewing someone for a job they didn't apply for.

They pull this crap all the time. They'll advertise for the job, put somebody in the position that has a similar job then try to back fill. My boss asked me today if i was ready for the interview? I told him yes I just couldn't understand why these other guys were interviewing and he said oh they already filled the position with the other guy that applied from another one of our shops now they want to find somebody to fill his spot. The whole thing is just stupid but that's how this place is
