I had an LED light in the dome for a few years, it burnt out. I have tried 2 different brand new led bulbs and both dont turn on. There is power going to the contacts as ive checked with a meter. What the heck could be wrong?! And yes ive tried flipping them and making sure theres good contact

Have you tried a regular bulb?

You could have voltage and a bad ground.

Does it not work using the switch in the On Position?
Does it not work using the switch in the Door Position?
Does it not work in either position?

This is important as the Dome light has power all the time from the 7.5A Dome Fuse.

Toyota switches the ground wire to turn it on and off.

In the Door position the ground is controlled by the body ECU, in the on position it is just a wire tied to the chassis ground.

Probably, but I have no prints for a third generation Tacoma.

I swapped the fuse out to a new one and it worked for a second and then same thing happened again. This time it blew the fuse, i ended up finding a arch between contacts that kept blowing the fuse, i guess i didnt look hard enough on the 1st fuse. Finally got it all strait though and got the dome light replaced.
