With stock wheels I would think you would be fine with 255's for rubbing on UCA's considering the stock width for some tacomas is 265.

Someone correct me if I am wrong!

The chart didn’t have 7.5 width, but I found a thread in an FJ forum. If the guy there did the math correct I have a 4.14” backspacing.

Can anyone tell me if 255s will rub? Will have 887s nitrochargers and LR UCA

What happened to showing off skinny tires. Other threads have suspension talk, tape measures work as well.

    Pulled the trigger!

255/85R16 ST Maxx on stock suspension 2016 TRDOR. Took off the mud flaps, have no clearance or rub issues. I think it fills the wheel wells nicely, and I really on the ride so far. These tires look like they will be awesome. Debating on a 2” lift but gonna roll this setup for a bit.

Thanks again for the thread and inspiration.

nice! I'm gonna need new tires after this summer but don't know that I can swing the lift right away(want to do it right, cry once buy once) but I'd like to stick with the 255's, hadn't seen them on stock suspension. thanks!

How do you like the AT3’s. I have never had a set, but have always thought the tread pattern looked well designed.

Glad you enjoyed it! Please feel free to add if you think anything is missing. This is supposed to be a one stop shop kind of place for the information. ☺️

I love the At3s by Cooper. Had them on my 02 tundra (rip) and they performed great. Told my brother about them and he put them on both his cars and work truck. He said it's the most capable A/T he's had on his 4runner.

Got mine mounted a few days ago. DC extreme country 255/85/16. Loving them so far. Came from stock tires, so huge improvement. No issues with getting them balanced. Good road manners, no pulling/wandering. Hope to get them off road soon.

Parents house in background but no real maintenance. Living in AZ the paint fades after 10 years so just repaint, caulk any cracks. Thats about it. Seems most houses in this area are now wood frame with stucco.

[/QUOTE] Witnessed a very muddy, VERY slick, steep-sided mountain trail quickly fill the ditches w/ fat tired lifted 4x4s. None of them could make any headway or get any traction. A wee CJ jeep w/ military tires (alternating lugs) drove up and pulled each one of the five pick-up trucks out of the ditch and back onto the trail! Seems like I remember those military tires never ever spinning or losing traction, but I suspect that truthfully they did at least once. I was in awe of the capability of the tires alone. All of the stuck trucks were 4x4 and considered off-road capable - and ALL had fat tires (useless in those conditions). Now, I've seen the skinny tires get stuck too, but that was always in extreme conditions. They also were the only tires around then so I had no way of knowing how any other tire would've performed in those same conditions. That day on the trail is memorable because I had that "one-to-one comparison". ...or is that four-to-four? Anyway, if I had a dedicated "off-road only" vehicle, I'd have the military tires on it. But having to also drive on rain slick pavement at speed, I can't rely on them.
