This is awesome because your setup is almost identical to mine weight-wise. My tires are 265/75 r16 , but i switched out my bedrack for a Softopper to keep things dry here in OR so i saved some weight there. Tune is on the way. Should be here 2-3 days. :)

Oh, and lately in my morning commute I have been getting really bad mileage (15-17 max) not sure why. Truck has just about 30K on it. This post gives me hope

I got about 20 miles in today on the 87 tune. As others have said, a night-and-day difference over stock. No mods as of yet that would affect performance; stock 2018 OR with 265/70/16 tires and stock OR wheels.

I installed the 87 tune Saturday and have only logged about 50 miles and first impressions are great. This tune so far has been impressive. I'm not giving a full review until I've logged some more miles. There are currently 2 minor things I'll see if they work out on there own with more miles or determine they really are not a tune issue.

The first is that on the commute to work in traffic, when slowing for traffic at around 35-40MPH it will shift into 5th and then have to downshift to 4th immediately when I apply throttle, not really a big deal, but something I noticed and thinking maybe it should hold 4th in this area. The second thing is when going down the highway 55-60MPH on some pretty good sized rolling hills as I apply more and more throttle to keep the speed up it will downshift to 5th and then applying more throttle as needed it will downshift to 4th, but at this point I have so much throttle that the shift into 4th puts it in the power band and it really want to take off and then your rapidly decreasing throttle. It almost seems like maybe it should hit 4th a little sooner under so much throttle. Both of these are fairly minor and maybe over analyzing, but a couple things at this point I would say keep the tune from being absolutely perfect. But as I said, these are minor things and overall am loving the tune!

Unlike stock, I found the shifting behavior you cite above to actually get better and smoother with more miles. I had about 1300 miles on the 91 1.03 AT tune before I flashed to 87 today and it did hold 4th in that kind of scenario pretty well after I got some miles on it. Also, Mat is working on getting some stock tires/wheels for his rig b/c we suspect that some of the fine tuning he's done on shift points is affected by the larger tires and thus his would hold 4th in that scenario where stock tires/wheels would go to 5th given the same load parameters.

Glad you're enjoying it so far! Once you get your miles in, review away!

So I had to drop my truck off at Toyota Saturday because of a "Blind spot monitor not available" error. they took all day and re-calibrated it and got it back to me. funny thing is, I dropped it off with 18.9 mpg average for the tank (watching it like a hawk because I'm curious how the tune is changing my in town mpg) and the service writer drove my truck to me (saved me time so all good!) got it back at 17.6... the 10 miles he drove he averaged 10mpg... guess someone enjoyed that throttle response! lol

They did have to "scan my truck" or so they said... nothing said about the tune, as I expected...

Looking forward to logging more miles and I'm sure there is some learning it needs to do. I'm assuming there are still different shift maps used and will adjust somewhat per your driving?

Not necessarily - it "learns" but from my experience it just smooths out the stuff Mat's done with the torque converter and pressure and smoothness of the shifting but as a by-product it did help w/ the above you're talking about. As far as what we have come to know as the trans learning, from all the miles I logged it isn't relearning how I drive and I'm thankful. Driving in stop/go traffic on my commutes made for miserable weekend adventures when my truck thought I wanted to granny it just because I was forced to drive that way all week...

Oh, but it is learning. It learns nothing -this is the beauty of [what a I like to call] Mat’s Groundhog Day TCU table.

Yeah, I understand exactly what your saying. I've been following this thread from day one, and when it looked like the issue of reverting back to it's old ways had been resolved, that's when I decided it was time to give it a try. But I remember Matt saying at one time there were several different shift maps, I don't remember the number, seems like 12 or so. I guess I was just curious if there is just one shift map now or if just the doggy ones have been removed or changed and so there might still be some auto adjusting based on learning your driving but obviously not reverting back to the "granny" driving maps.

Yeah, I know the feeling. Got my kit late Friday afternoon and immediately emailed the serial # hoping I would get the key Friday. Since it didn't come just figured I would be seeing it Monday, but nope, it showed up Saturday noonish! Matt works 24x7

Hmmm, not sure. I didn't get any type of activation code when I ordered. I got a shipping tracking number a few days after. But all you need is the key Matt sends you after you email him the serial number.
