I’m looking for a camper shell to carry my tools around. Want to build a bed slide for it. I built a rack to haul around lumber but now I got a trailer for that. So I want to protect my Tools from thieves and weather. Any suggestions on brand and best place to get one? All the places I’ve looked at seemed a bit over priced or maybe that’s just what they go for.

I sleep in mine quite a bit, so I went with one that has the raised roof. Sounds like cab high would work fine for you, not quite as expensive.

If you're patient and persistent, you can find good deals on Craigslist. I found a white one for $450. I rocked a white topper on my MGM Tacoma for a year. Then I found a guy who had a white Taco and black topper. We traded straight across. This one has a minor leak and some other minor issues, but I'm happy with it for the money. The white one was in slightly better condition, but I think it was a win-win.

ARE quoted me $2800 I thought that was insane. Gladly pay 120

I’ve searched Craigslist for months. I have the 5’ bed apparently Toyota says they couldn’t make 4x4 manual with the longer bed.

I found my cap on Facebook market place. It was a different color but it was a ARE cap for 300 dollars. Luckily my step dad pints so I’m only into it for about 500. So try looking there if u have Facebook if u want a used one.

One of our local NAPA stores is an automotive paint specialty shop. They're great at color matching and will put it in a rattle can for you. My good friend painted his white topper to match his grey 1st gen Tundra. It looks factory after a couple coats of clear. He did it a couple years ago and it still looks great.
