I just had my manager, project manager and another trainer laid off yesterday. I think You know who is starting to see losses and needs cash fast. Especially, after the whole Toys R US thing.

It’s been a blessing in disguise for me. I really needed the time off. I’ve been working 20 years exactly since my last significant time off. Last time was in 1998.

Take care of yourself, brother. I was out of work for 50 weeks, before my current gig came to fruition, in June '15. The one thing I learned through all of that is that retirement can't come fast enough; a time where I will march out of the workforce, with dual middle finger salutes to the assclowns that exist today!

I can’t wait for this! I want to do the same salute!

I hope to take the summer off and get back into the workforce in August

It was a strange 50 weeks. The funniest part was that I interviewed two different times, for the same job, with E2Open. The guy they picked over me the first time turned out to be a dud, and when the job popped up again, I emailed the HR chick, telling her to NOT call me on it again. Of course, two weeks later, she did, and against my better judgment, I danced the dance again. When they rejected me again, and then seemed to have a real hard time with paying my mileage for a trip to Dallas, I contacted their VP of HR, telling him I needed to get paid, and I was done interviewing with them, FOREVAH!:rofl::rofl:

Remind me when you're ready to look. I have C-level friends at a few startups around town that could be interested.

    Sweet! Will do for sure!

My only complaint about plastic fuel containers is that you have to burp the can on the regular. If you don’t, they get all bloated and out of shape

I was just reading about this!

They are really only going to be used for expo points.

But, you never really know if you (me) or anybody else may need a little sip to get where they're going.

I'm mainly wondering about the Rotopax "pack mounts" and if it would be OK to run them inverted on the underside of my bed crossbars.

That's really the only spot I have left for them.

True story. My water one is fine (obvi.) but the fuel I burp every once in a while. If not, they can crack, but Rotopax does offer a lifetime warranty (I think).

@ChadsPride mine are the 3 gallon ones. I think your bars are more than strong enough to carry them while full.

Quoting myself... but if you do get Rotopax, do yourself a favor and get this fuel spout to replace the one it comes with. 1000x easier/better to use:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004ETRWLS/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Here's the plate you'd need to mount 2 side by side:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008S9QSHO/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    You'd need/want a single locking T-Handle:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002TTR7CE/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Oh hell just give me your credit card, I'll order it all for you!

Please excuse my shameless self-promotion for a minute but it makes sense that you diverse group of Austinite's might be able to help me out:

I too am looking for employment opportunities in the Austin area. I'm graduating from UT in two months with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. I'm an Eagle Scout, recipient of multiple engineering scholarships, and have had internships in project management, operations, and HVAC roles. I'm currently a fully licensed nuclear reactor operator that I have been doing part time for the past two years in conjunction with my coursework.

The offers and interviews that I have received so far are almost exclusively out of town (NASA in Houston, Halliburton in West Texas, a few miscellaneous ones in Dallas, Alabama, etc.) but I would really like to stay in ATX - how else am I going to keep up with the ATX TTC crowd??? (only partially kidding...)

So anyways, if anyone here has any good leads on engineering-type jobs (manufacturing, technical sales, project management, automotive, power gen, utilities, construction, consulting, etc.) in ATX, I would be eternally grateful!! Resume available on request of course.

self-promo over, thanks for reading!! Back to the truck-talk :bananadance: :mudding:

*if this violates any rules I will gladly delete this post! Thanks

Wishing you the best of luck man. Sounds like you are one qualified mofo lol I'm sure there's something in ATX that would float your boat. I could offer you a job with Allstate but don't think that'd be doing your engineering brain justice lol
