I am installing my lift this weekend. Billstein 5100 on the 1.3" with moog 81102 coils. In order to get my strut bottom bolt in, I had to disconnect the 4 lbj mounting bolts. I got the strut in, but I cant get the ball joint mount to align with the knuckle. I tried placing a jack under the ball joint, but all this does is raise the truck. Please help. 0323181808b.jpg

Get longer bolts with the correct pitch and pull it up, the remove them one by one and install the correct length ones when you have enough threads to bite and hold. You can use a washer stack if you need to but use the correct length bolts for final assembly. Barring that, can you find a spring compressor that'll work for the springs?

    wut?!

You shouldn't have to remove or disconnect the LBJ.

You need to loosen the cam adjustment bolts on the lower control arms which will allow the whole arm to move down freely. The rubber bushings get bound up if you try to move them down too far because the rubber inside the bushings can't twist that far. Might want to loosen the upper control arm bushings, too...

You don't have to take the bolts out of anything, just mark the alignment cams before you start so you can get your alignment back the way it was.

Most will tell you that you'll need to get an alignment done after you lift it, however...

    Scratches, dents, lots of squeaks.
Remove your sway bar links. It's much easier to aligne those bolts with links off. Then put them back on once done

Lightly tap the the hub portion with a small hammer while slowly threading the bolt. The vibrations might be enough to get it to grab

Got it. I ended up removing the strut and reattaching 3 out of the 4 Lbj bolts. (One stripped, will wait till tmrw to replace) then I put one foot on the hub and my dad slid the bolt in while I put all of my muscle into that hub.
One quick question, the angle of the lower control arm is still pretty far down, I take it this will correct itself once I get a tire back on? I didn't think the billstein would push it down this far.0323182050.jpg
