Best answer I found states it does have clear coat mixed in , but it's not applied separate. So clear coat yes, but not traditional clear coat.

    Dear Mr. XXXXXXX:

Thank you for contacting ToyotaMotor Sales, U.S.A., Inc.

We appreciate the opportunity to address your inquiry.

The Super White paint applied to your Tundra is a single stage paint coating. Vehicles painted with non-metallic colors have no clear coat finish. Paint colors that are available in a metallicor pearl will have a clear coat finish.

We hope this information has been helpful.

If we can be of further assistance, please feel free to contact us http://www.toyota.com/help/contactus.html.

    Sincerely,

    Ivette Moreno

If the paint code is 040 it’s a single stage

I can confirm that the Super White and all other non metallic or non pearl colors DO NOT have base coat clear coat. regardless of vehicle made by Toyota. they do not use a 2 stage paint on those colors. I found that out 2 days after taking delivery of my Super White Taco. I inquired to Toyota directly and have a letter from them stating so.

With that said, I love the white on mine, but...I would not get white again unless it was pearl and had a clear coat. I am not saying the paint on these trucks isn't tough and won't hold up, because it is actually a great single stage paint. it is as durable as many base coat/clear coats. but what absolutely drives me insane is the fallout that the white shows. my truck came in with rail dust all over it. so, I clay barred it 3 times myself before having the dealer even look at it. still, my truck has rail dust spots embedded in the paint, even though I have clayed it and the dealer buffed it. the paint is smooth as glass top to bottom. you can't feel the spots but you can see them. well, I can see them, most people probably wouldn't be able to unless I pointed them out. I am simply at the point now that I am just going to enjoy it and drive it because the white does look SOOOOOO good with black accents.

I love my ‘17 White TRD OR DCSB. I also love the quicksand and inferno but I feel white will stand the test of time longer.

All mine have been white because theres only a few colors I’d get living in the desert, white or light tan. The solar radiation and cabin heat affect is so significant, that ighter colored cars out here actually save gas, fer reals!

True. One of my main reasons for buying white vehicles. Super White, the coolest color available.

I will be 44 in April, so I am no spring chicken anymore, lol.

but I used to detail for a living, and I notice things like that. I am very meticulous over my vehicles and mountain bikes. people always make fun of me for it too. they tell me vehicles and bikes are made to get dirty. while that is true, and I have fun getting them dirty, I prefer to see them clean.

You are still a spring chicken at 44.

It is yin & yang. Fun to get filthy and satisfying to shine.

One more thing about white is that it doesn't absorb near the heat as any other color will.
