Does Toyota install all the tsb’s from the 16-17s. Like the transmission tsb or do I need to go in and ask for them.

A TSB is a guide for the Tech to follow if you show symptoms of the related scenario. In order for them to apply the Trans TSB you must show signs that there is a problem.
That being said, the 2018 run should have the latest flash/update or whatever they were doing.
So, are you having a transmission issue or are you just reading what a few people are complaining about and think you must also have that same complaint?

When I put the transmission in reverse it goes in right away but when I take my foot off the brakes I get this lunge or surge of power like it was a late Delay or something.

Are you on a slight incline or decline when this happens?
Is it every time or just the first time from a cold start?
Did it just start this or when did you notice it?

How do they know the trans. fluid is full? You dropped it off today on your break and they have an answer this evening. There was not time for the trans to completely cool. They just put the computer on it and there were no codes, so they called it good.
Do you have another dealership nearby?

Dude. Low trans fluid does not make the vehicle "jump" when releasing the brake. Dont make a molehill into a mountain.
OP, you are probably just experiencing cold high idle RPM and that is the jump you are feeling when shifting into drive when releasing the brake. That's normal. Have fun with the truck and yes, before a dealer can sell a new vehicle all TSB's must be done. For example, a vehicle sits on the lot for a few months and a TSB for that model is released. Dealer has to do it before selling it. If a TSB comes out before the vehicle is built, it will be done during the assembly.

I wasn't meaning that low fluid was the problem, the point I was trying to make is they probably just hooked up to the computer, saw no codes, and called it good.
An informed customer would be able to ask, how was the trans fluid properly checked if the vehicle didnt have enough time to cool down? This would then show the dealership they are not dealing with a pushover that believes whatever the tech tells them.
Sorry, didn't mean to offend anyone.
I know how it works because I have had a service manager that would tell customers some shady stuff to get them to be on their way. He didn't last long though.

I have experienced this same issue. Even after the update for the transmission. I haven’t noticed this in a few months. I think it was during the extreme cold. It’s only been -1 here lately. I wouldn’t worry too much you still have a lot of warranty time left. Just keep it documented. There is a site that has the TSB for free for Tacoma (any make model actually). Can’t rememebr the site name though ...

The OP also mentioned a "late delay."

Yesterday, I was backing out of my garage, which has an incline to it, and I stopped with the front wheels just shy of leaving the garage's level ground to readjust the parking(did it for the firs time with this 3rd Gen). I put it in D, took my foot off the brake, and nothing. No forward movement till I gave it gas. Perplexed a bit, as I know the motor is strong enough to pull the truck in on its own, I put it in reverse and tried again, this time with 4WD engaged. Same thing, but this time I waited. The brakes applied pressure for like 4 seconds. Then I felt the brakes gradually release the pressure and I had to step on the them quick as the 4WD HI made the truck move forward quickly within the confined space. I played with it a few more times and it was always the same. My past 2nd Gen OR's never acted like this. Perhaps that's what you felt if you were on an incline. Mine isn't steep or severe, but an incline nonetheless. Today on level ground, I tested releasing the brake, and the truck instantly began to move.

I had a feeling a while back after playing around at Hungry Valley, that non OR 3rd Gens have some kind of hill assist. I've stopped half way on steep hills there, released the brake pedal, and I don't recall the truck never once backing down. Although I didn't sit there and wait like yesterday. I gave it drive within a second or two. Awesome system. A/T btw.

So when I put the truck in reverse I feel it go and the rpms drop but when I let the break go the drop even more. It’s like a second engagement or something.
