No worse than your fingers and nails touching them constantly on the door handle.

Wash em. Less dirt and bacteria than on carpet and seats.

Unlike carpet and seats in your vehicle, they are removable like floor mats.
Wash the door surface with cleaner and a rag. Reinstall.

And they keep stuff from rattling on the floor of the door.

$50? My toyota dealer gave me four of those for free since they service my truck. (He probably just took the being nice Yelp comments I left, and will add the cost to something else in the future o_O).

Edit: Oh yeah- that TSB scared me since I ride a heli too sometimes at work and park nearby it. So I put stick on velcro hooks on the pocket bottoms of mine to help hold them in.

I got the TRD ones. Carbon fibre weave.....not yet released to the public. Noticeable difference in torque.

Since they are lighter, they help with performance, too.

I’m not allowed too say to much about this TRD upgrade, as there’s a big press release scheduled for SEMA 2019, and they don’t want the other makers catching wind of this, and maybe offering their own carbon-weave door handle inserts. Unfortunately, you are going to have to have the VIN from a Tacoma Pro to buy them, but the Chinese are already working on a clone anyways.

Take a koozie, cut it to shape, insert. When it gets dirty, repeat the process.

The Toyota engineers didn't anticipate someone sticking a vacuum cleaner up in there. Seriously. It was the first thing I thought of the first time I closed the door.

Yes!! I forgot about this guy. It’s around $23. He has diff colored foam. I tried to look him up in my PM’s but couldn’t find him. I’ll keep looking.

I have the Tufskinz (black and orange) inserts for the cup holders in the center console. I got them on Amazon on a flash sale for 19 bucks. Now I want the ones that go in the doors so it all matches. But damn, 49 bucks? Really? I’ll end up sucking it up and buying them but when they go bad or something, I’ll go the cheaper route.

I'm new here and at risk of asking a silly question, what's the purpose of these?
Doesn't seem it would be a big deal without them.

    Welcome to TW!

Naw, these are more for looks than anything. They add a little color and flare to the interior, Albeit not much, but it does help. There are two things they are good for. One is to keep the bottom from scratching and two, soaking up of liquids from a soda cup that’s dripping wet.

TSB 0058-18, and TSB 0062-18 we can move on to REALLY important issues such as this. LOL!

Makes sense, I guess it's easier on the painted/manicured nails for female owners as well.
