Been meaning to do this for a while now...make use of the dead space over the door, deep freezer, and water heater.

Did a thing over the weekend. I'm ordering different mounts for the ski carriers to get them down closer to the crossbars. And I'm going to fab up a fairing.

    IMG_20180324_093555.jpg

This weather has to break. I've gotta go get a line wet for my own sanity.

(I know this shit doesn't belong on a public forum, but I figure we're all just fishing buddies, right? And who else can you tell things like this to, other than complete strangers on the internet who love to fish and Tacomas... I've got a doctor's appointment next week to discuss my uncontrollable anxiety that I've been dealing with lately, that I think has led me into depression. And I'm even over here worrying about that and stressing myself out about it. And yes, I made it small because I'm halfway embarrassed for even posting it.)

Definitely appreciate that. There's a lot going on in my life that I can't really talk about to my friends. I know they have my best interest in mind, but it seems like as soon as I start talking, they just get hung up on certain points and don't really listen and try to understand what I'm trying to say. So I get frustrated and just don't talk about it.

I definitely may take you up on that offer man. Thank you.

Fishing does help. Kinda. My mind never shuts off, so I usually start out fishing, then I end up thinking about my entire life up to this point and how the hell I ended up here. Then I just work myself up so much I end up not enjoying it like I should. So yeah, good and bad for me.

Big problem is I'm super stressed out at work because we're short handed and it's the busy season for us, and I've been stressed out at home. The being stressed out at home is definitely my fault, but not really the easiest problem to solve right now. I've been dealing with one or the other. I can't deal or handle both.

It's caused me to be in a constant state of stressed, unless I'm sleeping, and then I can't sleep because I'm too stressed out. Vicious cycle. It's caused me to overthink EVERYTHING lately. Which I'm starting to notice that I've always been this way, it's just gotten to a point that it's no longer under control. And yes, there were/still are triggers that I have figured out, and there's some I haven't figured out yet.

I'm going to a doctor to just get a solid opinion of what to do. I'd prefer to not be on meds, I'd prefer to not go see anyone. I worry about my CCW permit. I worry about becoming dependent on stuff. I worry about why the hell I can't just control myself. I'm still in the "kinda really scared to admit I need help" phase.

Someone I'm very close to, who lives with me, yet is one of the big reasons for my overthinking, looked me dead in the eye Saturday night and goes, "You know what your problem is? Depression. You've got depression." I responded with, "Yeah, and terrible anxiety."

She then told me I needed to go get help. It got the gears turning. We all know how that ended up. I found some "self tests" online, took them, and they all said the same. I need to seek help. This was Sunday morning. I'm not afraid to admit it, I broke down.

So yesterday I made an appointment. We'll see where this goes.

Enough thread jacking... back to the happy shit. Thanks guys.

For a while (before I changed jobs), I had stressed induced, work related anxiety. I worry about stuff.. a lot, and keep it to myself until it becomes a problem. About 2 years ago I went on a vacation to Florida with my family, and by the end of it I was nearly in tears cause I was worrying about stuff I had going on back home (work and other issues at the time). Fortunately, a few months later, I had a new job opportunity fall in my lap which has reduced my stress load greatly.

Another thing that helps me is fishing. Getting on the lake...trolling through a cove, or around a bridge, its just nice to be on the water. Hell, I don't care if I'm catching anything (though it is nice to have some reward).

I've met several awesome guys through TW. Many of them will give you the shirt off their back. Hit one of us up if you ever need to talk through something.

Thank you for that man. I know everyone here I've talked to and have met have been some awesome people. That's another aspect of my life that's gone downhill. I don't get out and do the things I enjoy doing, and I don't go out and meet new people like I used to. I just kind of hide out at the house and find stuff to tinker with to keep my mind busy, yet I always lose interest and end up just back in the same overthinking circle.

But I definitely appreciate the kind words from everyone. Thanks guys.

I am a big fan of Abu stuff but when you get into the higher end stuff I like the diawa and others as well. I have never really been a fan of the van staal stuff. I think you can get some stuff that just as good for less money

Those are replaceable. I took all my "fresh" water reels and ordered neoprene sealed stainless bearings to make them more corrosion resistant.

What are you doing to them I've never had those issues out of Abu. Can't say anything for pfleuger only ever used one of their reels and it stays at the beach getting used by many different people so it's pretty worn out like all the fishing gear down there. I like the Cabela's salt series reals they are made by okuma and have done really well for me.

I have the Cabelas version of the Okuma baitrunner/feeder spinning reel. It's a step up from the Okuma because Cabela's had them add an extra bearing or 2 and the spool is a little larger. I run the larger 5500 or was it the 6500 size I use them for live baiting cats and bull reds.
