    Hello all,

After saving enough money to put down on a new Tacoma TRD Off Road 4x4. I have never bought a brand new car before and i'm absolutely terrified that the dealer is going to rip me off. Here is the specs of the truck i REALLY want to buy.

2018 Tacoma TRD Off Road v6 Double Cab.
    Technology Package
    Blazing Blue.

The MSRP on the window of the truck is $39,625.00. My question and i'm sure people have asked many times is how much should i pay for this beauty?? I'm paying cash and want to know a good Out The Door Price. Can you guy please help? Thanks a million all.

    David

Building this same truck on the Toyota website comes out to $35,263. Where is the dealer coming up with the other $4500?

My wife and I recently bought our 2nd ever vehicle, a 2018 (not toyota :crapstorm:), we first reviewed true car and looked at what other dealers within 1000 miles offered it for. Once we had an idea, we went in and asked for the dealer invoice. Our offer was a 3 or 4 grand less, and the dealer initially wasn't too keen as they had already done some things like seal the paint, tint, and vin etching on the windows. We made it clear we were not willing to pay for that. But because we were paying outright with our own loan, they were not going to make anything on a loan, and subsequently did not have much push back. They tried to run my credit (with my permission) and couldnt even come close to the rate I had and they didn't even try to convince me. After some haggling, we settled on about 1500 less then dealer invoice, meaning they took a $1500 loss on the vehicle. They did however make their money back on manufacturer incentives, occasionally offered when buying a vehicle, but usually kept by the dealer. I did also pull a prick move, and mentioned I would be reviewing them with USAA as that was who had recommended this specific dealer to me. They had a representative who specialized in "internet sales" and had a professional relationship with USAA.

    Good luck

You could pull up the Toyota website with the salesman, show him the lower price. Then ask him how it ended up higher. Call his price

I paid 35500 OTD and 0 down for a 2018 TRD Sport 2wd. If you can get a 17 I recommend it. The lane assist is garbage. I have and nothing but problems with it. 2 visits from engineers and they still cant solve it. Other then that i love the truck.

If you don't mind buying slightly used you might be better off spending that same amount of money on someone who's spent money upgrading their TRD. I saved about $8,000 in upgrades by buying one with low miles that was already partially built. Toyota dealers really have no incentive to discount TRD Off-Roads, at least in SoCal!
