I heard about the FJ t-case being a drop in, but not the T4R

Also if anyone is ditching parts, I’ll gladly take them in case some one else needs them down the line, kinda like a parts swap

The current generation with the offroad package have the manual shift case. Check out parts capability between the FJ and the newer 4Runner, as well as interior photos of the current gen trucks. I stumbled on it when hunting Ebay.

    Story time!.

I think I may have posted in here about not knowing if my locker was working or not well I think I can safely say it's working

Today we left around 4:00 left from oromocto and took back roads from Fredericton junction to st George nb on the back road on passenger side I had noticed a *ski doo trail along the side of the road this one section of it was I'd say 100m from one logging road to the next* , so we end up in st George and stop at the subway and break out the backroad map and find a trail of logging roads back to Tracey witch is in the Fredericton junction area so before we use the roads buddy wants to go see the ferry that takes you to deer island first we go see it must of seen about 15 does on the way I see why they call it deer island , we turn around and find our way back to the logging roads was all mostly 2wheel driving on these roads by the time we finishes the logging road it's dark not a lot of visiblebility at the road I see the ski doo trail and I ask my buddy do you wanna drive down this for fun *its only probably 100m before it connects to the road well 100m turned in to 3km real fast oops my bad we get to this one point where I pass over this little snow covered rickety bridge I'm in the Tacoma I'm fine I make my buddy has a f150 (thank gawd for the warn bumper / winch) I pass 1st bridge then 2nd bridge next is a steep hill going up I make it half way up the hill then I'm just spinning oh shit oh shit thro er in 4lo and prey for the best still not working still at the half way point on the hill decide the locker fingers crossed preying to the Tacomaworld gods I proceed to climb the hill like it was nothing no sweat off the Tacoma
Now at this point I'm on top of the hill and waiting for my buddy who's on the other side of the hill to catch up witch he drives down makes it to the bottom of the hill over the 2nd bridge and try's to make it up up the hill and it just won't go so he figures well since we passed the point where the ski doo hill meets the road figure we'll turn me around and head the other way I'm turned around at the bottom of the hill pass the 2nd bridge and on my way over to the 1st bridge my buddy who's trying to back up all the way with out trying to turn around back over the the bridge and his front end slips over the side of this bridge oh shit oh shit I almost start puking because we try to have me pull him out but all his winch is doing is pulling me in so unhook I back up and we winch him on to a tree about 10-15m to the passenger side to pull him back on the the trail this works *whip sweat from forehead* phew we can no longer get back the way we can if I drive over that bridge I was gonna go over the side so I have to back up again and turn around and he try's to climb the hill again once I'm on top again he couldn't do it oh shit oh shit I'm thinking at this point were screwed tattooed and screwed I don't think my Tacoma is gonna pull his truck up the hill turns out I gotta have more faith in my truck with a little winching a little pulling with a little struggling gets up the rest was pretty well smooth sailing at this point I'm still worried sick until I noticed a backhoe and a stop sign on the trail just a little ways up

The ski dooers are probably going on to be pisssed tho My wife was

Yeah I’ll find it up and post it once I get home from NFLD Thursday

Bridge wasn’t massive or anything really high probably maybe 4 feet enough to need a tractor to pull him out if he fully fell in it was just his passenger side tire

I'm hoping that it is warm enough out tomorrow to do my axles tomorrow. Picking up some redline MT90 for the transmission this weekend. Leaving the tcase as the sooner it makes noises the sooner I have an excuse to convert to a manual case.

Let us know how it works out. I'll be giving a report on the redline. She doesn't like shifting into first when it is cold out.

Mine is really fussy shifting into 5th. I'll be switching to the Motorcraft tomorrow morning, and I'll post my first impressions. I am also interested in the Redline.

Where did you get the redline?

Gonna be doing the R154 swap into the Supra in the near future. R154s are notoriously dump-truck-like
