I’m looking for a quality shackle that doesn’t use threads on the pin.

I’d prefer a lynch pin, or some other way of securing it.

    What do y’all know of?

I bought some from a farm/fleet store that are pretty heavy duty and they just take a pin with a quick pin through it to secure it. Weren’t very expensive either

What you're looking for is called a "round pin shackle"

I’ll check one out this weekend, but I’m a sucker for Amazon ordering.
Thanks! I googled that, and they seem to be all over the place in terms of rating, apparent quality, etc. Do you recommend a specific one?

If it doesn't say Crosby or USA on the shackle body I don't use it.

Could also look for a Safety Anchor shackle. It uses a nut on the other end instead of it using just a pin.

Edit: Crosby, Campbell, and Gunnebo are the brands i trust most.

I would use this on my tractor draw bar where the cotter pin only there to keep the t-handle alloy pin from falling out. These are only as good as it's weakest link (the cotter pin). Any recovery that pulls to the side could shear that cotter pin. Cheap shackles are left on the truck, if someone takes them I guess they needed them more than me. Crosby shackles in recovery bag are the only ones used for any recovery.
