OP, you say that you are new to owning vehicles... maybe you drive the truck as it is for a while, see what it does well and what it's lacking, and then you will have a better idea how you want to modify it. Sure TW can provide ideas, but the V6 turbo swap, 8-foot snorkel and dually axle might not be your cup of tea.

    Is that rig even 4x4?

A few things you can start with:
    - Upgrade your headlight bulbs. Philips CrystalVision Ultra are pretty nice.
    - Drop in a dry aFe air filter; do NOT install a CAI!
    - Ditch the long antenna for a stubby.
    - Tint those windows!
    - Get a matching LED 3rd brake light.
    - Upgrade the interior dome and map lights to LEDs.
    - Upgrade the license plate lights to LEDs.
    - Drop in a rubber bed mat.
    - Drop in a cargo net.
    - Install a hitch and trailer wiring.
    - Install a bench seat organizer that hangs on the back if you haven't already done so.

That should keep you busy for a while and make your little rig more practical. Later, if you really want to do the off-road thing, you can look in to small lift kits and bigger wheel and tire packages. Good luck to you, dude!
