ANT teams are great. I have done two ANT teams. Well, keep your head high and stay positive. Waiting to go to school for 2 years can wear you down.

There is worse out there, 2 years can wear you down but at an ANT it’s not overly bad when put into perspective. I joined in 1997 and went right to a 378 where guys had been there 3 years waiting on a school and were up for transfer as non rates. I’ve seen people wait 6 years for a school.

I think command has a lot to do wig the unit too. I know people on 270s and they’re looking at whoever has the shortest wait to get them the fuck off the ship mostly because of command. My command is awesome so I don’t mind the wait so much. I’d rather be here than a white hull waiting on A school

You are right. Waiting 2 years at an ANT Team isn't to bad. When I was on the ASPEN, we had a female non-rate (fireman) that waiting 3 years for MST school. But even a 225 is not bad, not at all. She was there so long that she got Inport and Underway EOW qualified.

Those are actually good things - while it kinda sucks being stuck on a boat, to do PSC well you need to know mechanical systems (and bridge systems, and... etc) So getting EOW is great.

Well, got my orders. Really wanted the Frank Drew, but Detailer said since 2/3 of my 20 years have been at sea (14 years) I have to go to land. Heading off in July/August to be the new EM School Chief.

Right. At least it will have me home everyday with the family. Just really wanted to get back on another 175 and the Frank Drew.

The frank drew is sweet. We work with them a lot. I’ve got a seaman friend over there too.

I am on the Cobb now, and just love the small crew. Would have been nice to go to another 175. But at least I will be over in Virginia where I want to be. The old lady is happy that I will be home every day.

    ME A School list closure.

Starting today the ME school list is closed to prospective students. Forcecom and ME RFMC will re-evaluate list closure every 6 months.

Hopefully we don’t have anyone looking to go ME that’s not on the list already.

Any triumphs or disappointments on the SWE list?

I’ve got a pretty good chance of being above the cut, so I got that going for me, which is nice.
