What’s up folks? I just found this forum, been on TW for a while but usually cruising for info or looking for deals. I have a stock 2008 double cab that I’m wanting to install suspension lift around 2”. Live in Bedford County, any recommendations on shops in Lynchburg to install? I have a young family and not sure I can spare the time to install on my own.

Welcome fellow Bedford County tacoma owner. I personally cannot think of anywhere in particular that would do the lift. I think most of us installed our lifts on our own. Hopefully another local person chimes in with more helpful info. Regardless, welcome.

Its the same way in my area, Harrisonburg, Shops seem to being scared of anything other than standard part swapping and oil changes.

Exactly. There are a couple shops around here. But they are only capable of spacer lifts and they aren’t very good at that.

@Bsheriff11 helped me do the exact same kit on mine. Not offering his services for him but we do get together for mod days when everyone can find the time.

haha nice! The wife says she doesnt trust me to install it and wants me to take it into a shop to get it done lol...but the way i see it... I can get new tires for the price of installation... but I also just got a quote from Larrys' who say theyve done a ton of lifts, and theyll do the whole thing with alignment for $400-450...which sounds pretty reasonable.. and seems to be significantly cheaper than the other quotes I got

Just the UCA are worth paying someone $400 after having to do them, even with help. Even though everything went perfectly well after the install, and I like the knowledge of what was done, if I had the $450 I would let someone else do it. Can't speak for Larry's, maybe someone else here can.

I’ve used Larry’s for other things, but not my lift. They seem to be pretty knowledgeable and trustworthy. That’s a great price if so.

Let me know how it turns out if you go with them as I’m about to get a new setup myself.

Same, but a few weeks ago when I was there for my other car, they had mentioned they do a bunch of lifts. After calling them today for that quote, I forgot to mention the UCA's... so Ill have to ask to see again how much that would tack onto the price of the install. Ill keep you guys updated

Did you mention what type of lift you have to them? I bet they see a lot more spacer lifts than anything. Not that installing coil overs is any harder if they’re preassembled. The UCA is the hardest part, like @Marbleyard said. What kind of UCA’s did you get? They weren’t really familiar with adjusting the caster on my light racing UCA’s.

I did mention that I had the full OME lift with the coils already installed. and a full leaf pack.. but i have not asked them about the UCA install yet. Will be purchasing JBA's. do you know of another shop thats more knowledgeable?

Philips Alignment did a nice job with mine after me and a buddy installed the lift. Installing a lift isn’t terribly hard if you have the right tools, but $400 is a great price if it’s not much more for the UCA install. I’m about to get Kings and I will probably end up doing it with some guys around here if our schedules work out, just because I doubt most places around here would even know how to mount resi’s

@Kevinmang Late to the party but I’ll put my 2 pennies in. I installed a full OME leaf pack on my truck as well as Icon coil overs and Icon UCAs. Like everyone above said, if $400 is all they are going to charge then yes it is worth it. UCAs are a pain, but they are still achievable. A mod day would be your best bet. That’s when things get accomplished and when good times are had. Nevertheless, Welcome.
