Hello all, I have a couple of questions and looking for info. First for those that have the ditch light mounted off of the hood hinges do you get any wind noise or buffering from them? How often do you really use them, and do they obstruct field of view at all? Next I'm wanting to purchase a bed rack for tent and gear so I've looked at several makes but haven't made a purchase as of yet too many questions so I'll start with how secure are the racks once tent is opened and 2 people are in it can you feel the rack move or just the truck? With rack loaded and driving would you want a rack that is cab high or lower for best load distribution? What is the best average height for the rack? Thanks in advance.

If you plan to have a roof rack as well, get the cab height rack, so the roof rack and bed rack will be about the same level. If you will have a clean roof, maybe the lower rack would be better, both for center of gravity while off-roading, but also for aerodynamics. Also depends on what kind of stuff you want to shove in your bed, too. If you have tall stiff, maybe get the taller rack.

For racks, I've really got my eye on the All-Pro Pack Rack. There's a weld together option that can save you a few bucks if you have a welder, otherwise they have a few different heights to choose from. The racks, at least the All-Pro style are SUPER stout and can hold several hundred pounds -very secure. People put RTTs on their roof racks or camper shells, so the steel/aluminum racks are even stronger.

I don't have ditch lights, but I imagine if you place them just right, they shouldn't impact your vision too much, if at all.
