I am having trouble with my 2016 Tacoma composite bed wearing on the location where it meets the steel. I have 130 km on the truck so no longer have warranty. Toyota's fix under warranty is to replace the whole box without any update to the problem. I carry about 400 lbs in my tool box and my deck has fallen approximately 1 inch. I will be taking it to a body shop so they can look at it and perhaps rebuild the composite adding a metal insertion.
Any one with any better ideas on how to fix this.

If you search the 2nd gen section you should find a thread on the issue. I’ll see if I can find it. May have some solutions

The bolts are tight. This just shows how much the composite has worn and how much the bed has dropped. I found out first when the bottom of the box fell far enough to cut the wires to my fuel tank.

Holy sh*t that is bad for a 2016! The link posted above by @JdevTac and @Murphinator should provide all the info you need. Some people have come up with using a poly bushing to create the necessary spacer to bring the bed back up to height

Tks JdevTac that did the trick. Seems like Toyota is slow at fixing their own design flaws.

Its a toy truck. We're not supposed to be using it like a real truck.

If you haul heavy weight all the time put some kind of heavy rubber between box and frame.
