What would you all recommend to use if I wash and wax my truck once every 6 months in a good year :anonymous:. Max protection is what I'm looking for, not necessarily the best shine. Going to detail my new 2018 this weekend and want to keep it looking new as long as possible.

Without going too crazy, meguairs ultimate is easy to find, cheap and lasts a lot longer than waxes did 5-10 years ago.

My brother swears by chemical guys but he waxes probably 3 or 4 times a year, so I don't know about longevity.

You don’t want a wax, you want a sealer.

A quality sealer will last 6-12 months provided you care for it properly. Which means:
    No automatic washes
Use of pH balanced soaps that are sealant safe
You don’t use abraisive things to wash your vehicle (ie brushes)
You wash your vehicle as little as possible
You do not use any non sealer safe cleaners on your paint

The biggest thing that impacts longevity of a sealer is going to be in your care when cleaning your truck to preserve the product.

I put Chemical Guys Jet Seal on my truck in April 2017. The product is still on there and doing a pretty bang up job. It beads water and the truck has been a breeze to clean.
I love the stuff. I’ve been very impressed with it.

I pick up some chemical Bros car wash and jet seal. Expensive, hopefully it lives up to the hype. Thanks all.

Jet Seal is good stuff. Haven’t seen any negative on it. I would also recommend Optimum Opti-seal. Quick and easy plus a little goes a long ways.

I use Optimum Opti-Seal every 6 months & Optimum Car Wax after every wash. Protects paint, chrome & plastic.

FYI-- Blackfire Crystal Seal and Megs Fast Finish go on nearly identical to OOS. I like them all. But for the price, the Megs has my attention right now. It also seems to resist dust better than the others.

I just bought some of this for the same reason. I used there synthetic sealant 2.0 last time and It was very good. Just thought I would try this cause of the added polymer.

That’s what I’ve been using the past couple years... one bottle lasts a long time. I was wondering which lasts longer, klasse or chemical guys jet sealant

Klasse and Jetseal are both acrylic sealants. It's older technology. That's not to say it's bad. They are both solid performers. But there are lots of newer products out there.

I'd encourage all to try out any one of the wipe on wipe off sealants like Optimum optiseal, Blackfire Crystal Seal, and Meguiars Fast Finish. They flat out work well and it's unbelievable easy. Easier than windex-ing a window.

You simply spray on the surface (or on a microfiber towel) and wipe it on in a crosshatch pattern. You'll see it flash away almost immediately. Flip the towel (or use a second towel) and give it a final wipe. And you're done. You can seal your truck in about 5 minutes if you're quick. 10 minutes if you take your time.

In the summer months you can get 2-3 months out of it easily. And in 5 minutes you can apply another coat ANY TIME. Bring the shine back up. I enjoy detailing and as far as appearance goes, you'd have to really split hairs to say traditional sealants look considerably better.

These products are fast, fun, and easy. And results are comparable to a traditional product. What's to not like?

Also- safe on glass (skip the windshield) and trim.
