    hey Guys

Anyone that has replaced the front door speakers. Are the trim ring required. Going with 6x9 infinity’s. Can I hack to orm speakers and make a mount or will a regular 6x9 bolt in. I am assuming I can make a ring out of wood too

Reason I am asking I want to do the speakers tomorrow but I don’t have the rings.

    Thanks.

You'll need adapters. If you have the means, I'd make your own out of MDF. The adapters I got from Crutchfield when I did mine didn't work well with the JBL speakers I bought.

I used HDPE, but if you have it I would use the MDF

EDIT: Nevermind...you are going with 6x9s up front.

I used these with Kicker speakers.

You may also want these adapters.

I ended up getting 165 krx2's for the budget friendly/ease since I already have a 4 channel amp.

Did you do any more sound deadening? MLV and such and do you have any pictures of it if you did?

    Love this build.

I have seen guys gut the stock front speakers and use that as an adapter mount but that may not work with all aftermarket speakers.

I guess there are always surprises when u buy a used truck.

Tweeters replaced with the subaru kicker tweeters. BIG BIG improvement

Pulled the doors only to find kicker cs 6x9 front and 6.5 rears. Already with my replacement infinity’s ready to goi went ahead and replaced them. HUGE improvements Now I think I will add a kicker under seat sub and I’ll be done. I used infinity reference 6x9 and 6.5 off the factory non jbl. Sounds incredible. Better than my components in older cars.
