I have always gravitated to stouts, porters, brown ales and appreciate having options in fresh beer...but I am done with the IPAs. I want fresh beer flavored beers. I travel a lot for work and continue to encounter bars and restaurants with nothing but super hoppy IPAs on the menu. My current order is “not an IPA and local, please”.

Some of y'all who like a higher malt content but also like hops might want to consider the CDA - 'cascadian dark ale' style. Decent hop character AND maltyness.

'craft' doesn't just mean IPAs, folks. It means a ton of exploration of styles which aren't in the mainline six or so these days. Heck, I've had some really tasty craft lagers.

Craft beer is great and all, but I can't stand the people who feel the need to tell everyone about the beer they have/had/are currently drinking and how special and indie it is. Like bro I don't care that this beer was blessed by the virginal lips of a clandestine tyrant's daughter/soon to be wife. If it isn't good it isn't good. I'll never forget being on a fishing trip in Talkeetna where we worked about 13 miles of river bank for trout. One guy in our group had filled his bag up with Milk Stout, Double IPA, and a bunch of random craft beer. "Everything is on Nitro so its a lot smoother." He gave me shit for drinking Coors Original. Although after he drank a couple of his special beers you could tell he was feeling heavy and those swift water crossings became tricky for him.
Long story short, halfway through the trip he asked me for a Coor's.

Mods? We don't need no stinking mods.
I'm mostly a wine and cocktail guy. I don't drink beer very often, but when I do I gravitate towards microbrews. The concept of sucking down a 12-pack of Busch Light is completely lost on me. Maybe back in college, but I've moved on from that. Now, I prefer to have 2 or 3 craft beers and leave it at that.

I'm an odd duck. I like IPA, but I like the ones with a solid malt backbone to balance the hops. I can't stand the direction some brewers have taken lately with over-the-top hops that just wreck your palate with aggressive notes of pine resin and dank herbs. Some "balanced" IPAs that I really enjoy include: Lagunitas Maximus, Cigar City Jai Alai, Bear Republic Racer 5 and Avery IPA. Also enjoy a nice ESB or Farmhouse Ale from time to time.

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
I absolutely refuse to buy a 4 pack of anything. I hate this 4 pack of 16 oz. beers for $10-12 trend.

Nope. Just give me a 6 pack and quit with the fancy designs all over a tall can BS.

I’m tired of fruit loop smoothie IPAs and dumb shit. I just like a well made IPA, rather than a shitty Goose Island or Red Hook mass produced beer.

I’d like to know what you consider craft beer before it was popular.

@scottstrong89 Nice to see Moonraker getting some love all the way down in SoCal. They are less than a hour a way and produce my favorite Hazy's. I had a buddy from Connecticut hit me up to ship some his way. Crazy that they even knew about them as they are relatively small.

I'm more tired of people who love craft beer.

They're as insufferable as wine snobs, whiskey dickheads, all-local-organic-farmers-market foodie hippies and any other form of petty elitist who thinks certain preferences reflect on the value of a person because they've never accomplished anything in life aside from eating and drinking.

Yes yes, notes of vanilla and very hoppy with a smooth afterbirth or whatever. Drink and like what you want, but no one asked for a 20 minute sermon of you sniffing your own farts on beer opinions. I'm just trying to eat this drastically overpriced burger and get the fuck out of this industrial and wood themed brewpub.

Usually when it's the winos I break out the you-forgot-to-spit-but-I-did-hear-you-usually-swallow line.

If that causes them to spit out their drink, usually I'm like "There, you got it now." and go on with my day.
