How's the bump wobble on that? Really on any of the solutions mentioned. Thinking about a mount for a phone or small tablet too, but don't want it bouncing around all over the place when I start getting into the thick of it.

Yeah you just need to loosen and rotate the ram mount. It's offset right in front of the dash so it's got clearance to rotate. As it sits, my LG V20 fits perfectly without blocking anything in that spot (and I'm only 5'-7").

I'm sure it's not as rigid as the vent mounted units but it hasn't moved/loosened in 6 months. There is a slight wobble but it's not enough to be distracting and I think you could almost eliminate it with a little better bends on the sides. That's also on less than stellar socal streets so ymmv.

Edit: Just saw that you mentioned a tablet. You'd definitely want thicker material and would then need to slightly notch out the back of the dash piece that is removed in the pics. You'd also want to mount it on the opposite side of the head unit tab from my pics to avoid a weird angle on the head unit screen. I use mine for an LG V20 without issue.

I went with a Proclip mount and love it. Easy to use and phone is secure, but easy to insert and remove. The built in iPhone connection allows me to use CarPlay and charge the phone. Also have full use of the vent.

That's what I was thinking. I might test this out with a few different materials! Good thinking!

Slightly modified iottie wireless charger cradle. It locks on just by pushing phone into the cradle and releases with one or two finger push button release. The location rocks especially for watching gps/traffic on trips.

I usually just throw my phone in the center console. I only use this mount when I need to use Google Maps for directions. My truck isn't daily driven, so I rarely need to use the mount.

This little sucker is amazing, $12 on Amazon, we have the same one in my wife's 4runner. Comes with a large metal plate that fits inside my phone case. Sticks really well.

+3 I have the same mount and love it! I did mount the metal piece in between the phone and case and had issues; however, once I put one on the outside it holds really well. I love that its so low profile, I barely even notice it when the phone is not on there.
