Vehicles Affected: Approximately 800 model-year 2017 Toyota Tacoma pickup trucks built at Toyota Motor Manufacturing de Baja California between Oct. 12 and Oct. 17, 2017

The Problem: During the manufacturing process, the oil galley in the rotor for the brake booster vacuum pump assembly may have been improperly machined possibly resulting in a sudden loss of brake assist. Loss of brake assist could increase the risk of a crash and injury.

The Fix: Toyota will notify owners May 31 and dealers will replace the brake booster vacuum pump for free.

What Owners Should Do: Toyota will begin notifying owners May 31. Owners can call the automaker at 888-270-9371, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236or visit NHTSA's website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.

I am not affected but thanks for the heads up. I wonder if the machinist responsible was on a previous Tijuana binge.

Thanks man but your post does not do anything but stir shit up. Two and a half months away..
This is what happened with the rear diff leak. Somebody posted it, everyone who thought they had an issue took it to the shop before Toyota was ready to handle it. Then people got really pissed when Toyota took their trucks hostage. They would have never known until they read about it on TW and went and looked at their diff. If they had just waited until official notice it would have worked like clockwork.
Again, not directed at you but sometimes knowledge is not power, but ignorance is always bliss haha.

Knowledge is always power , but to use it you must understand it, if you don’t understand it you don’t have knowledge of it. The people who you refer to do not have knowledge they read about knowledge and act with stupidity. Anyways it’s never a good idea to suppress things because it is what it is and people are going to do what their going to do. This is for the smart people. Also it’s fun to watch the stupid people do stupid things. LOL

Yeah, like take their truck in tomorrow demanding a fix lol.

I will say this about your "knowledge is power" statement:
Do you know what group of people in the US has the lowest suicide rate and has a higher sense of well being than other groups? Low income and less educated. I know right? Made me re think and re rank the "knowledge is power" versus the "ignorance is bliss" concept. When I thought about it, how can you get mad or sad about something you don't know about? So now I have decided not to learn anything else ever lol. I would rather be dumb and happy than smart and unhappy!
