Just looking to get some feedback on the harrop e-locker for those of you who are running it. I've researched previous threads, most recent one that I viewed was from 2015. Anyone on here currently running them? If so, any pics of install and wiring along with any feedback would be much appreciated!

The first was Tony a/k/a Ghost____(something) in Canada. I was the second, and the other day I saw mention of it in someones build, so there are at least three. That 2015 post you reference may have been mine as that is when I did it. I absolutely love it. I have a TRD OR so mine came with a rear elocker. I wanted something for the front other than than the ARB and was able to get it less at the time than an ARB because of a strong dollar vs. Aus currency exchange. But keep an eye on the exchange rate as it can go the other way too. I received it and then sent it to East Coast Gear along with the front clamshell packed in a 5 gallon plastic pail. The sent it back in short order. Its been flawless and silent as a church mouse.

I've got a Front and Rear in mine but have yet to test it out. @dwaltdtx also has front and rear.

Cool. As you know it comes with a rocker switch that does not match the kind used in or trucks so I got the one from on board air that is the push-on/push off and modded it so that the internal lights of the switch match the color of the OEM. I then slightly rerouted its internal circuitry so that it is backlighted the same as other dash switches but comes on to a bright yellow when on. Works great but took a couple of tries.

An update on this thread, I actually just installed my front and rear Harrop lockers a couple of days ago. I am looking to take care of the wiring this weekend or possibly looking into different switch options before I begin wiring. They sure are pricey, but overall glad I went this route as opposed to an air locker or auto locker.

I have mine run through my switch pro. I have front and rear also and have been off-roading once and to my deer lease once since install and they have performed flawlessly.

@dwaltdtx , any issues hooking up to the SwitchPro? That was my plan as well, no need for the supplied relay/switch etc?

    Thanks,

    Wade

@Cruiser Brothers , Ward, how much 'modification' (grinding for clearance etc) of the diff housings is actually needed (front & rear, 2012 Tacoma, 3:73 oem gears, non e-locker), I have heard differing reports,

    Thanks,
    Wade

I had the shop installing my gears run the wiring, but no problems since install. It’s been a while so I don’t exactly remember the way it is wired, but I think all the relays are in one unit under the hood in my case and then it is a simple hot and ground wire out from there to the switch panel for each accessory connected.

The switch pro has a solid state relay so no need for it's own relay.

Staying tuned, as this is an option I may revisit in the future.

Worth every penny in my opinion. I have been running front and rear lockers since last October, very pleased with the immediate actuation from off/on as well as on/off. Wiring is not bad at all, and the performance is top notch.

I want to re-gear (4.56) and have been looking at locker options to do at the same time. I have pretty much decided on the Harrop E-locker because I don't want to run extra air lines, compressor, etc. They are pricey but I like that they come with all the wiring and the ease of install. Trying to find information here is tricky since there are not many people running them. I will probably get the ECGS assembled third and front clamshell because they do great work and it will make swapping them much easier.

I am working a ton of overtime right now so I can get these done in the next year. Glad the few guys here that have them have good things to say! Any issues with them being on a 6-speed manual truck?

@Sna ,,, DOOO IT!! Really glad I went that direction,, only thing I need to do is fab a guard/cover plate for the bittom 2 switches on my @switch-pros ,, so I do not lock one by accident ( not that I have actually done that ;-). )
