Sliders with permanent drop steps drive me crazy. The steps kill your clearance and can really hang you up.

Something like a pass-through knot would probably work. Could make it as wide or long as needed, and easy to add or remove as needed.

My guess is great conceptually, terrible in reality (Lord knows I've designed a few of those solutions). To have enough 'foot clearance', you have to have enough slack. Then you're talking about a wiggle-rope for lack of a better description. You could do the super heavy gauge loop I suppose. Stuff that's used on guy-wires for really tall microwave towers.

A buddy of mine took his Jeep to a local tack shop and had actual stirrups made for his Wrangler sliders. I haven't looked in a while, but I think they went on without hardware, but were secure enough to stay on in day to day driving. When it was time to wheel, they just popped off. I'll see if I can get a pic one of these days...

Awesome - as my wife gets more pregnant, her tolerance for jumping in and out of the truck is decreasing rapidly :) Only thing that has stopped me form pulling the trigger on sliders is finding a step option! Were you still looking at a stirrup option, or a firm step?

Yes! However those are not for sliders. I've seen a few options like this for nerf bars and jeeps, but nothing for a true slider on a Tacoma. It's been asked many times in this forum over the years, but I've yet to see an actual product, aside from the guy that was selling them but apparently not fulfilling orders.

So far this is the closest thing I've seen to a solution :)

A little off subject but @Mobtown Offroad (Joe) do you think your welds are air tight? I was thinking of using the square tube as extra air reserve for an oba system.

Back on subject: How much space is between the body and the inner-side holes on the fill plates? Are the holes in the fill plates always in the same pattern/spacing?
