Its got it perks! I fish a ton...and i have 17 lakes within a 45 minute drive of me. But sometimes i feel claustrophobic. Thats when i like to take a backroading trip up thru the texas and oklahoma panhandles.

Mostly geared towards the motorcycle adventure riders. But 4wds do it too. Several videos on youtube about both trails.

Yes, wide open spaces up there. Plenty where i live too. I'm about 30 mins from Mount Scott. I have to drive at least 30 mins to reach about 2 lakes. They aint too great either. Do mostly pond fishing, for that reason o_O

I have several dirt bikes, but no true enduro. Wife is convinced i will kill myself soon as i hit the road. She's a Nurse Practitioner and so is my mother. So they see a lot of wrecks and are convinced everyone that rides a motorcycle will be killed by it at some point. Ugh...

I'm working on em. Just sold of one of my BW200's (Big Wheel) and need to get rid of a few more, then i might be able to sneak a TW200 home at some point. Think i was up around 10 or 11. Got it down to 8, i think:rofl:

I'd be interested in seeing the western part of the TranAmerica trail. I'd probably want to go a bit north and make my way to Black Mesa. I'm in Tulsa and I could care less for the central Oklahoma farm roads, but I've been working on a route that would hit the salt plains then out to black mesa for an overnight. Anyone interested?

I'm down. Have to bring the 7yr old along, that would get us past the wife...

Have to check out the Coach Pitch schedule, lol... Seems like we have something every night, but most of the games are during the week.

And bring the bikes, just in case :bikewheelie2:

I'm from SW Ohio, so even central OK isn't flat to my standards. But I miss real trees, cedars and Blackjack Oaks just don't cut it. I did some backpacking in the Eastern part of the state, and I love the hills and pines.

I can pretty much make the time for whatever is scheduled, to include overnights. Exception being the last weekend of April, going to the Buffalo River for a couple nights.

Here's the map of the black mesa area I'd like to explore. Would be fun to do a Oklahoma, Colorado, New Mexico in one day. With all the rain and water in the mountains this year, I bet all the rivers will be flowing well into May/June. It's about as far as I want to go for a weekend getaway, but at least I can get over 5000ft and it looks like some possible trout river fishing.

I was just out at Black Mesa a couple weeks ago. Got there too late in the day to make the hike to the top. It's all walking, you can't drive to the summit. Takes about 4 hours to do the hike and then back to the trail head (it's 4.2 miles each way) . We're planning to get out there again soon and do the full hike, but need to get there in the morning.

I'd be down to try the Oklahoma Adventure Trail or the Oklahoma portion of the Trans America Trail, depending on when. My weekends are usually fully booked. So I have to schedule time off at least a month ahead of time.
