I just took my Tacoma into the dealership and they were asking $1,200 for a new TOB, and $1,900 for a new clutch and flywheel resurfacing. This thread has convinced me to go with the URD stage 3+. I want to do the Heavier Flywheel, does anyone have any experience with it? Will it slow down my 0-60? Also, what are my options for a new TOB? I'm thinking I'll order the parts from URD and then take it to a local mechanic to have them installed.

You are adding more rotational mass to the engine by putting a heavier flywheel on, so yes. It has the potential to effect your 0-60 time. But if you are getting the heavier flywheel for its intended purpose, crawling or wheeling, your 0-60 shouldn't be the main concern. You can't have the best of both worlds... something about cake and eating it....

I have not noticed any negative effect to the acceleration. Only positive things to say about the heavier flywheel.

Your day to day acceleration it probably wont be noticeable. If you drag raced your truck a quarter mile, and clocked your times with and without a heavy flywheel, you would see a difference, however slight it may be.

I might go with a stage 2 clutch and upgraded throw out bearing if I keep mine that long

Any other reviews/updates in here? I will be installing this in my truck in the coming weeks. Curious what everyone thinks of this combo long term?

Stock clutch is slipping on mine after 8200 miles with the s/c
