I drive a 99 Tacoma 4WD TRD with 360,000+ miles on it. Have replaced heads(blew a head gasket), radiator, rebuilt rear third member, new rear axle seals and bearings, rebuilt front cv joints. And of coarse timing belts, water pumps, front rotors etc. Has some rattles, but still runs good and everything works.

My ‘03 has 215,000 on it....running strong. Sad to say they don’t all belong to me. I bought it with 173,500 on it. I had no problem buying a Tacoma with high miles.

I have a '95 4x4 with 329,000. I did replace the motor at 294,000 because I must have melted a bearing in the block. Trying to pass a Semi up a 7% grade, loaded with extension ladders on top accelerating hard in 3rd gear. lost power and had to rev the gas to keep it running, but limped it 10 miles to the house in the CO mountains. I bought a used 3.4 to replace it with had 110K on that. I figured it was barely broke in.

I"m new here. I got almost 270K on my 03 V6 Access cab. Frame replaced some years back by my dealer. I'm not a wrencher but have a good and honest mechanic. Gas tank straps let go last fall. Recently my fuel pump quit a few weeks ago and had to get towed back to my home town about 30miles away. So I decided to trade in and while I'm waiting for the model I wanted a rear wheel axle bearing locks up on my and my wrench doesn't have the right press to repair, so he has to remove the axle and send to shop which charges $300 press bearing set back on..............it has been a great truck for me here in New England and I'm the original owner. So I have to do a major repair once more to bring it in for trade....................Getting a new TRD Sport.

Good luck with that and make sure you get a bumper to bumper warranty for as long as you can, I know the transmissions still have problems. Its all over the site here.
My brothers Tacoma left him stranded a few times because the anti theft computer part went hay wire and would not let the truck to start.
Ended up having to replace the ECU for 2500.00 and of course the ECU has to be programmed by the dealer.
Lots of electrical nightmare issues with the new trucks.
So what are car payments and insurance on that just out of curiosity

It will depend on what I put down. And they're giving me 3500 for my truck. They are also a GREAT dealer. The best in my area by far. I bought my last 2 trucks there. Maybe about 400 per month if I string it out. I"m financing through my local CU and could get 3.50 for six years. . I'm looking at a 6 speed after reading THIS and other forums. I was considering a Colorado. I did drive an LT which I thought was nice. But I wanted a stick. To me the Taco feels more solid. Maybe it's just me. Been driving Toyota since 83. I was looking at the Colorado fan forums and they're talking about the hood vibrating on the highway and some electrical problems.

If I keep reading all the forums, I won't get anything. I appreciate all info. Funny consumer reports and others have bad things to say about the Taco, but then flip it over and say bad things about Colorado. Those were the only 2 I"ve been considering. Yes, I'm having some issues now, but never had a vehicle for this long. If I thought I could trust the Colorado for 200K...…...and forget I want a CD player, and the choice for a standard shift...……. I have a deposit down, but I'm not locked in. The new Taco sure rides a lot better than my 2003!!!

As of a few days ago, I'm at 196,825 miles so I'm close to joining this club!

I am due for front wheel bearings (because I feel like it's the right thing to do since they are original) and ball joints. The LBJs were replaced at 17k under the recall and now they have a slight weep of grease but I don't feel any play from yanking at the wheel in any direction.

2003 just regular maintenance. Ujoints and carrier bearing about 2000 miles ago. Runs like a brand-new one. Happy to be part of this club. Hopefully this truck makes it to my 7 year old daughter..
